Family packing list for Camp Bestival

Family packing list for Camp Bestival

This will be our second year as official Camp Bestival Bloggers. We are really privileged that we get to attend such a fantastic family event, so we take our roles seriously. We make sure we are fully prepared for all eventualities and most importantly pack to have fun. Last year was our first time attending a festival. We packed in preparation for a camping trip, but found we left out items you might want when packing for Camp Bestival and had a few items we didn't use. So we thought we would share…Read more
Juggling too many balls

Juggling too many balls

Clara and I like to keep busy at all times. We do like the odd day to relax, but we almost always fill every weekend and evening with something. This not only means we get to do fun things, see lots of people and study new subjects, it also means occasionally we burn out a little. One of the things we've been asked a lot this year since starting the daily vlogs, is "how do you do it all". By all, people are referencing both working full time jobs, both studying for new…Read more
Nearly 3

Nearly 3

In a weeks time we will be camping in a field with some fab people, having celebrated our son's third birthday. Three, our little man is going to be three! Every year I comment on how fast time has flown, but this year seems to have flown the fastest. We are so grateful we've had this blog to capture almost all our best family moments along the way. It's been one of the biggest adventures of our lives. Raising a child is amazing and each stage has been my favourite. Now M is…Read more
Summer activities for a toddler

Summer activities for a toddler

Now that M has broken up from nursery, we've been thinking about suitable summer activities for a toddler. I say toddler, but we don't really think of him as a toddler anymore. In 9 days our little man turns 3 and at times he sounds like he's 13! This year he is really into doing more than he was last year. He is quite an independent chap and he likes to be challenged, so any activity we attempt has to allow him to exploit his independence. We kicked off the summer holidays by…Read more
Delicious fajitas – Santa Maria #TASTEsantamaria

Delicious fajitas – Santa Maria #TASTEsantamaria

If you ask me what my favourite food is I will always answer fajitas. I love Mexican flavours and enjoy the hands on approach required to create¬†and eat fajitas. When we attended Britmums last month, we met the team from Santa Maria, the creators of one of my favourite salsa's. They asked us how we make our fajitas special, so I thought I'd share my little tricks along the way. We were given some wraps, fajita mix and salsa to share our secret tips. I've only just started eating chicken again, after several…Read more
Marwell after dark #onsafariwiththree

Marwell after dark #onsafariwiththree

It's not often we find ourselves putting M down for a late nap so that we can head off somewhere after dark. But when Three mobile ask you if you'd like to join them on safari at Marwell Zoo once everyone has gone home, to trial an LG Spirit on Pay As You Go, you can't really turn that down! Both myself and Clara are huge Apple fans with O2 contracts, so we had no idea that Three's PAYG offer the lowest in the UK market at 3p a minute, 2p a text…Read more
Smartrike two years on.

Smartrike two years on.

Just over two years ago, our little man was sent a Smartrike to review and it turned out to be perfect for those moments when a stroller was optional. Which is why were were super happy to support #Swapyourstoller week over on Twitter. Go check out the hashtag to see the new generation of little ones trying out the new Smartrike on sale. Our little man has moved on from the original way he rode the Smartrike, which is what makes it such a great product, it really grows with your child. At…Read more
Did school make or break me?

Did school make or break me?

For the last few months I've been thinking more and more about my experiences at school and how to put them aside and get excited for our little man heading to school next year. I quite enjoyed primary and middle school, enjoying the activities, fun teaches and the ability to be myself. But sadly this all ended when I went to secondary school. I know there will be many who say they disliked school too and it's just a way of live, I've even been told to just get over it. But it…Read more
Journey to Spartan

Journey to Spartan

It is known that Clara and I love a challenge and enjoyed climbing Snowdon for Raising for Grayson last year. This year I was meant to be completing a challenge called Challenge 10, but had to bail out due to an ovarian cyst and awaiting an operation. Now that my op date has been set, we have started to look towards a challenge for next year and we have settled on a Spartan race. A Spartan race is an obstacle course race designed to put your whole body through it's paces. Being totally…Read more
A day with the boy

A day with the boy

It's not too common for M and I to spend an entire day on our own. With working full time, any weekends are spent as a family making the most of all our time with our little dude. But last month I was able to take advantage of a day off with my little dude, so we spent it in style. M is at that great age where questions are followed by more questions, everything is amazing and learning about the world around us is mind blowing. I let M pick where he…Read more
