A day at the Beach

I have loved photography since I was a little kid. My dad gave me one of his old SLR’s and an old lens when I was young and I used to pretend I was a professional photographer. He had a large collection of books on photography and I would sit for hours looking at the pictures. I learned that my favourite type of photography was un posed, I loved the way certain images allowed you to use your imagination and told a story.

Flash forward many years and I was finally able to afford my own DSLR, I purchased a 50mm lens to compliment it and made a promise to myself to practice. I attended a fab session on switching from Auto to Manual photography by Jay Mountford at Cybher this year and things started to fall in to place.

Photography makes me happy, when I get that shot I love I feel on top of the world. I’m not saying I will make my millions with photography, but it certainly brightens my day.

Recently I was lucky enough to spend the day with some gorgeous friends of ours in Lyme Regis. They gave me permission to practice my photography and have allowed me to publish their images here. Massive thanks to them.

So this is their story – A day at the beach.

Beautiful. I’m not a fan of say cheese for the camera either! I would love to suggest this guy called Tim Coulson to you. He is from Australia and really inspires me with his “lifestyle” photography and often he does his work in peoples homes in their natural environment. http://www.timcoulson.com/
