We have been tagged by the lovely Leopard Print Mummy to participate in our first ever meme – The “Being Pregnant” meme was started by the curious Trinket of Treasure!
Invite three or more women and link them to your blog post. As I don’t know many mothers or pregnant women, I’d appreciate it if you could invite as many mothers/ expecting women you know to participate. But please remember you don’t have to be invited to take part. THE MORE THE MERRIER! x
For lovelies that have been pregnant more than once, answer the question in regards to your first pregnancy.
So lets get down to business ladies!
Our first reaction was of extreme surprise as our first two attempts of conception weren’t successful. We never imagined it would be third time lucky. Our first attempt was IUI and we had convinced ourselves it would work straight away. So by this second attempt with the donor, we had set up a mini barrier to prepare us in case it didn’t take.
I think the most major change is that we are solidifying our role as a family rather than being just a married couple. We also have noticed we’ve been accepted into the coveted cocoon as what Kirsty likes to call the “Parent Club” those who are members will understand exactly what we mean.
My favourite thing about this pregnancy has been all the scans we’ve had. It didn’t feel real until we got to see our little monkey on its first scan at 9 weeks, due to a little scare. We then had 4 more scans which allowed us to watch the changes our monkey was going through.
The thing I’ve disliked the most is Morning Sickness. It appeared on Christmas eve and didn’t leave until April 30th. It got so bad at one point that I ended up in A & E.
What are your overall thoughts and feelings on being pregnant?
All the symptoms, aches and pains all seem insignificant in the whole scheme of things. At the end of the day, I’m growing a mini miracle inside me and miracles have to be hard work so that you can appreciate them. I can honestly say, it’s been one of the best experiences of my life so far.
All that is left is to invite some fab folk to take part!
Have fun answering, we look forward to reading your answers.
