Maybe Baby Brain?

Maybe Baby Brain?

My memory is not good at the best of times, but its getting worse. I walk into a room & I don't know why I walked in there. I spend 5 minutes looking at my shoes trying to figure out which foot they need to go on. I reverse the car into a pillar in a car park. It now has a lovey new grove in its side. I struggle to remember how to turn the full beam lights of my car on and off. I put a black bag of food waste…continue reading →
Baby’s 1st Christmas – 2012

Baby’s 1st Christmas – 2012

Now that Christmas is officially over, the tree's back in its bag and all the presents have homes, we finally have time to sit down and recall everything that happened during our gorgeous baby's 1st Christmas. When we first had Monkey, most people told us he wouldn't even notice anything at Christmas. But this couldn't have been far enough from the truth. He was incredibly alert and loved all the Christmas prep and could definitely sense the growing excitement from both of us. Our Christmas celebrations started on Christmas Eve with a gathering…continue reading →
Just Breathe

Just Breathe

There is a lovely little shop in our town which sells vintage items, who we regularly visit. We established familiarity with one of the women who work there, having bought a lot of little bits and pieces for our wedding there. So when we stepped through the doors in January 2012 and announced that we were expecting our little Monkey, they were very happy for us. This is where I received the best advice of my whole pregnancy, which helped my through 20 hours of labour. The manager, a very kind, soft spoken…continue reading →
Our Year In Photos – 2012

Our Year In Photos – 2012

2012 has been one of the best years either of us has ever had. It got kick started in January with the creation of this blog. We wanted somewhere to document C's pregnancy and our adventure into parenthood. We've loved blogging so much and look forward to continuing to blog our adventures, rants, reviews and general ramblings in 2013. The first half of the year was spent counting down days towards two milestones, my 30th birthday and the birth of our first child. Each week we watched C's belly grow and enjoyed feeling…continue reading →
Urbo Shoot – Behind the scenes

Urbo Shoot – Behind the scenes

If you're a regular reader of our blog you would already know that we're working with Mamas & Papas on their Urbo, How we roll campaign. If you're new here, firstly Hello, you can read more about that announcement here (Part of the Family). As part of the campaign we were invited to London to take part in a photoshoot. Neither C or I had ever been involved in a professional photoshoot so we were a little anxious. My main concern was the fact I was going to have to wear makeup, we'd…continue reading →
Week one of weaning complete

Week one of weaning complete

It's crazy that it's been a whole week since we gave Monkey his first ever mouthful of food. It's become such a regular thing to do during the day, that it feels like he's been munching away for months. It took us a couple of days to get the timings right for when was best to serve up his lunch, but once we had it right he was eating like a pro.   The first mistake we made was giving him his lunch when a bottle was due, he wanted the food but…continue reading →
Merry Christmas – 2012

Merry Christmas – 2012

Tomorrow will be the first Christmas Eve our little man has ever seen. Even though he has no idea how much excitement this day will hold as he gets older. Both C and I are excited to be starting traditions we hope to carry on for many years to come. We will be spending the day with family and exchanging presents as it will be just the three of us on Christmas Day. Then on Boxing Day we will be with more family for more exchanging of gifts before collapsing in a pile…continue reading →
Wee one is weaning

Wee one is weaning

Yesterday the Mayans got a prediction right when it came to our household. It was the start of a new beginning. We all had a new world starting with new sights, new tastes and new experiences. That new world we entered, is the world of weaning. Monkey had been showing signs of milk not being filling enough. He had stopped sleeping at night and was crying after his milk, even when we upped it. We took to social media and family for advice. We quickly discovered that there was no hard and fast…continue reading →
