A Little Grey Sock

A Little Grey Sock

When Monkey was only 3 weeks old I had to return to work. It was incredibly hard, not only due to the fact that I was tired from all the sleep less nights but also because I missed seeing his little face all day. I'd been by his side almost every day for three weeks, apart from the times I had to leave him at the hospital with C. Suddenly I was expected to go to work and miss out on all the little things he got up to during the day. I…continue reading →
Too Hasty

Too Hasty

Having spent the weekend contemplating my last post and having had a long overdue heart to heart with the person who's remarks had upset me I realise I was too hasty. I wrote about how some health professionals are blinded by their training and can't seem to look past it, especially when it comes to breast feeding. My midwives weren't supportive of my…continue reading →

Teething, tummy bugs and Mama’s sneezes

This week our house has been full of the funk sick people seem to attract. The week started with the occasional sneeze and cough from me and a chompy, drooling, poorly Monkey. As the week progressed, C turned into super mum (not that she's not always a supermum, but this time she was super x 1000) , managing to maintain a positive outlook whilst nursing a poorly baby and a cold filled Mama. Every year I catch the same cold around the same time and it follows the same pattern. Sore throat, hacking…continue reading →
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

C and I both have our little traditions in regards to when it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. C has to see the Coca Cola Holiday lorry advert, I have to hear a specific Christmas song. This past week, both our traditions were fulfilled which allowed us to start to rustle up some Christmas spirit. I've always been a big fan of Christmas, I love the magic involved with preparing for Christmas Day. I think this is is due to working in several different toy shops for 6 years. Seeing all…continue reading →
