Limbo

Limbo

So our little wait in limbo is imminently coming to an end. Our last appointment with the Midwife was at my 15 week check up, where we heard the baby's heart beat for the first time. These last 6 weeks have seemed so long but yet when I talk to others they seem to comment on how fast this pregnancy seems to be going. I suppose we're just anxious to meet our little monkey. We've experienced some big milestones though. Over the last 2 weeks my little flutters have turned into big kicks…continue reading →
Halfway on the Horizon

Halfway on the Horizon

On the 21st we will be celebrating our middle milestone. It seems like a long time since we got our first pink lines but it's actually gone quite quickly. It's scary to think, that in less than 20 weeks we will be meeting our little person. Clara's bump has been on a steady growth for the last three weeks. I'm slightly worried that if she keeps expanding at this rate she will give birth to a full grown teenager. It does suit her though and I love feeling the bump knowing my little…continue reading →
Feeling the Glow

Feeling the Glow

Now I'm in my 2nd Trimester I'm feeling amazing, all the sickness seems to have gone & the dreaded pregnancy headaches are few & far between. I'm also enjoying feeling my little button move, even if I can't feel a lot, these first few flutters are simply wonderful. My wife is enjoying watching me grow & regularly puts her head on my tummy to try & hear the baby's heart beat, this is great bonding time for them both. Although, I do have to ask K to kiss my belly over my clothes…continue reading →
Bagging a Bargain

Bagging a Bargain

It was an incredibly early start this morning, but as we woke up as sad as it sounds it felt a bit like Christmas. We were off to the Baby Show at the Excel to try and get a pushchair fit for our prince or princess. We didn't realise how easy the journey would prove to be, which meant we arrived a little earlier than planned. This proved to be a bonus as it meant the show had not started to get crowded. Our first problem was deciding which way to head once…continue reading →
A Disney Experiment

A Disney Experiment

Being a bit of a science and psychology geek, Baking our own little person has given me the opportunity to put some studies I've read to the test. Now before you get all worried about me turning our child into a science experiment in some study lab, that's definitely not the case. Although I've always wanted my own lab coat. One particular study piqued my interest, this was the study of children recognising music played to them whilst they were in the womb. If like me, you have lots of apps and books…continue reading →
The Best Sound in the World.

The Best Sound in the World.

This week began with us finally getting to hear our baby's heartbeat for the first time. When I booked in my 15 week appointment with the midwife, I thought it would be a routine, bloods, blood pressure and wee checking type of appointment. I was only half right. After several questions from the midwife and a quick check of my wee she asked those words I'd been waiting 15 weeks to hear. "Would you like to hear they baby's heartbeat." Who says NO to that question?! It took us several seconds to reply…continue reading →
Happy Pinning

Happy Pinning

Anyone who's ever had a child will know that it's not a fast process. From the moment we made the "attempt" until the time we tested, it felt like a lifetime. Since having seen our lil Button and discovering how big it is, I know there is still a lot of baking to be done. Which takes time. This leaves me with lots of time to find cute and adorable things online to wrap around our cute and adorable new addition once it arrives. The only problem with finding lots of things online,…continue reading →
Headaches, Heaving & Sacrifices

Headaches, Heaving & Sacrifices

This week has definitely had its ups and downs. At the weekend we decided to meet some friends in Exeter, which is a 2 hour drive for us. I've had trouble in the past with long journeys and morning sickness, but thought this one would be an exception. How wrong I was! Exactly an hour and a half into the journey I was asking K to pull over on the only road we'd driven on, without a hard shoulder. Thankfully we noticed one of those emergency pull ins with seconds to spare. I…continue reading →
12 Week Scan

12 Week Scan

On Monday we finally got to see our little Button again. Even though it's only been 2 weeks since we last saw them. As the prep letter had requested, Clara had a full bladder. Turns out this actually hinders the scanning process and after 5 minutes she was asked to empty it so that baby could be seen. It seems as though Clara is growing a lazy baby. After ten minutes of scanning, Clara was instructed to jump up and down so that baby would move. Amazingly this worked and when Clara laid…continue reading →
