Holiday Prep Has Begun

Holiday Prep Has Begun

Every year C suffers with SAD a condition that is effected by the level of sun you are exposed to. Living in the UK we don't get a huge amount of sun during the winter months so by February C is usually desperate for a day full of the bright bursting sun. We usually get to December and wish we were going somewhere warm and sunny for a week, even if it's just to top up C's sunlight levels. Well this year we have our wish. C's family have very kindly invited us…continue reading →
Smiling at Softplay

Smiling at Softplay

As we've mentioned before in a previous post, the weekends are our special family time. It's the only time in the week where we get a whole two days as a family. Usually our weekends are full with seeing friends, family or running errands. But this weekend we have a whole two days with not much planned. Yesterday we decided to take Monkey to one of our favourite places to go and let off steam, softplay. Our little man is big climber and enjoys throwing himself off whatever he climbs, we makes softplay an…continue reading →
Moving House – A New Chapter

Moving House – A New Chapter

Yesterday we moved house. Our new house became my 9th house, C's 9th and M's 3rd. It was such a long day that begun at 6am and didn't end until nearly midnight. Thankfully my sister was able to entertain M all day, so we were able to be fully hands on. This also allowed us to set up M's playroom and bedroom for his return. I always find moving house an opportunity to start a new chapter. C and are are currently living with her parents. But once we find something suitable for…continue reading →
The Perfect Playground

The Perfect Playground

Where we live, we are lucky to be within walking distance of several playgrounds. Each playground is very different and offers equipment aimed at different ages. A few weeks ago we stumbled across the perfect playground for Monkey. The only swings available are baby swings, it has a mini round about you sit in, rather than stand on and the slide and climbing frame are the perfect size for him to climb. He loves the independence he gains as soon as he enters the playground. He can run off and climb up onto…continue reading →
Why didn’t you adopt?

Why didn’t you adopt?

When Kirsty and I told everyone we wanted to start a family together, many people asked us - 'Will you be adopting?' That question never really seemed to bother me that much in the past, however, now we have our son, it is really starting to play on my mind. Especially as the question has now changed to 'Why didn't you adopt?!' & 'Will you adopt the next baby?' Our answer, sadly, is no, we will not be adopting. I have the upmost respect for those who adopt and foster. There are so…continue reading →
Who’s toddler is that?!

Who’s toddler is that?!

My little Monkey is no longer a baby. Of course he will always be my baby but I think we're now starting to realise we have this amazingly independent boy now. More and more people are starting to refer to him as the dreaded T word. Who is this toddler you speak of I think?! Why is the transition from baby to toddler so hard?! Monkeys 'godmother' Elsie (you may have read her awesome review of The Anyway Up Cup, if not you can check it out here) warned me about this stage.…continue reading →
An invisible illness

An invisible illness

If you asked my friends and family, they'd probably tell you I was a little bit quirky, I say things that others possibly wouldn't and I spend longer than is required, washing my hands. If I was to think back to a time this began, I'd say I was around 10. It was just part of me, a big ball of something, that came along with me everywhere I went. I had no name for it, to be honest I thought everyone carried this ball of something. It would tell me I couldn't…continue reading →
Rising Early

Rising Early

A couple of weeks ago, C and I decided we would alternate taking M to bed and getting up with him when he wakes in the morning. This allows us extra one on one time, but also gives him some consistency too. Yesterday it was my morning. Just before 7, I took M downstairs and switched on the telly, as a distraction so that I could make him his bottle. He stood, eyes still full of sleep, consumed by Cbeebies. His little head shook from side to side each time a song was…continue reading →
Into the Woods

Into the Woods

The other week an email pinged into our email box, it was an invite to make a video about our favourite way to enjoy family time. The prize, was to become bloggers for Center Parcs. C and I are both big fans of Center Parcs, so couldn't resist giving it a shot. It didn't take C long to suggest filming our video at our favourite place to spend time at, Moors Valley Park. We adore spending as much time as possible outdoors. We feel that M gains so much from being outside, running…continue reading →
Porridge on Tuesday Giveaway

Porridge on Tuesday Giveaway

October has come around faster that ever this year. Our plans to become fit and healthy Mummies by Christmas, is still well under way. We know that healthy eating and exercising is a long-term commitment and not an overnight fix. We are really enjoying our Porridge on Tuesday meals and have just joined in with lots of bloggers for #shredtober. Which is the 30 day shred. We have already attempted it and made it to 13 days and level 2. But due to injuries and taking a break, we let it slip and…continue reading →
