Making the most of time.

Making the most of time.

Since becoming parents we've certainly realised it's not always rosy, as mentioned in a previous post. Suddenly this little miracle is the pivotal part of your day. From waking moments to going to bed, almost every thought is about this mini human. This can leave little or no time for the one (in our case) you loved enough to create this amazing life, with. When the opportunity to attend the Mad Blog Awards was provided to us, our first thoughts were how much we would miss our little man. As the weeks passed…continue reading →
And the winner is….

And the winner is….

On Friday night we glammed up to the nines, started drinking at quarter past 3 in the afternoon and prepared ourselves to meet lots of lovely bloggers at the Mad Blog Awards. We were still pinching ourselves as we walked into the grand venue at the Royal Garden Hotel. We couldn't believe an idea we had to blog our lives had brought us on such an exciting adventure. Lots of amazing people were going to be in one room, waiting to take home a lovely glass award to adorn their mantle pieces or…continue reading →
Midnight Appreciation

Midnight Appreciation

So I was sitting in bed, in my hotel room, following an amazing night at the Mad Blog Awards, just about to turn in for the evening when I started to think about how much I appreciate our little blogging community. We have met some wonderful people and build such great friendships. We were totally honoured to have been finalists and even though we didn't win, we had the best night, surrounded by friends who have a mutual love of telling each other exactly how it is. We also met lots of new…continue reading →
Glamming up for the Mad Blog Awards

Glamming up for the Mad Blog Awards

This Friday, Clara and I will be wearing the smartest outfits we have owned, since we got married almost 3 years ago. Thanks to all our readers, our blog is a finalist in the Mad Blog Awards. Having had several months to digest this information, we are still over the moon each time we think about how far our blog has come. We started our blog to shine a light on same sex parents and to open up the doors to how, we're not too different from other parents. It would mean so…continue reading →
That’s My Son.

That’s My Son.

Monkey loves to hear his own voice. He's practicing a lot now and can't always understand why the middle of a restaurant isn't a good time to see how loud he can shout. We try to get him to reduce the volume when situation requires, we let him know that his voice sounds lovely and we tell him he is oh so clever for learning a new word. But at 13 months, he is exploring. I want him to learn the many sounds he is capable of. I love hearing the excitement he…continue reading →

Enjoy the Great Outdoors with a Smart Trike

This summer we have been so grateful for wonderful weather. We have managed to take Monkey out on his Smart Trike almost every day over the last few months. As he communication improves, he gestures at his Smart Trike and requests to be put in it. It has made trips to the local shop a happier event too, as he'd much rather sit in his Smart Trike than a pushchair. The lovely folk at Smart Trike have given us a  Smart Trike Dream 4 in one to giveaway. All you have to do…continue reading →

First Year Of Our Favourite Baby Products

During Monkey's first year we discovered lots of products and brands that we fell in love with. The first year really is one big trial and error, products you thought you'd love before your little bundle arrives may not be products you end up using. So we thought we'd share our first year of our favourite baby products. Poco Nido This adorable little company make the cutest soft shoes, wellies, t shirts and rompers. M was lucky enough to be gifted a pair of Mini Shoes and we loved them. Each and every…continue reading →
Chloe The Cat

Chloe The Cat

This is Chloe, she's approximately 23 years old. My family adopted her when I was 15 and we were told she was about 8 years old. I still remember the day we went to pick her up from the home she was at. She was such a frightened and angry cat, she had a whole room in the house to herself. As we walked in the room she hissed as disappeared from view. "We'll take her" we said. There was something about her, she was stunning. "I'll get the gloves" the foster parent…continue reading →
A little grumpy

A little grumpy

Recently M has been going through a big developmental and physical growth spurt. He's trying to speak, but hasn't quite grasped too many words yet and can get quite frustrated when our attempt to understand him turns in to a game of charades. To top it all off he's still teething, I feel like he's been in a constant state of teething since he was 6 weeks old. All of this can lead to a very grumpy Monkey. Boy does he let us know when he's in a grump, he moans, throws toys,…continue reading →
Lulubelle’s – Bake it Together – Space Birthday Cake

Lulubelle’s – Bake it Together – Space Birthday Cake

Lulubelle's is home to the tastiest cupcakes in Dorset. Located in Canford Cliffs is a cute little cupcake shop and tearoom. Everything is made on site and trust me, you can tell as everything tastes homemade and fresh. We first discovered Lulubelle's nearly three years ago when we asked them to make our wedding cake. So we were incredibly excited when they got in touch to ask us if we'd like to try their "Bake it together" service, to make Monkey's 1st Birthday cake. The service appealed to us straight away as we…continue reading →
