Christmas Day 2015

Christmas Day 2015

This Christmas we spend the day as a three. Each year we alternate between spending the day with our family or spending it on our own. It allows us to make sure our parents get to experience the joy of seeing their grandson open his presents on Christmas Day at the same time as giving us some years where the memories are all at ours. We enjoyed a pretty relaxed Christmas Eve and Christmas morning, with M and Clara not getting out of their pj's at all. We had decided, last minute, that…continue reading →
Thank you kind stranger

Thank you kind stranger

Thank you stranger..... Thank you was all I could say yesterday when you helped a situation you found myself and my son in. It was a situation pretty much every parent has been in and quite often you read about the bad reactions from bystanders, the tuts and the huffs and the angry people telling parents to "shut that kid up". But no, you were different, you made my day. Yesterday after picking M up from pre-school I drove to our car dealership to get a part on our car looked at. It…continue reading →
A lot to learn in 3 years

A lot to learn in 3 years

If I look back over the last three years, I can't recall any significant increase in my skills. I have had to learn how to parent and have started to study a Sociology A Level, but I wouldn't say I have made huge progress in self growth. Which is why I am so amazed with how much a child can learn in 3 years. Our little man has had a lot to learn in 3 years and he takes it all in his stride. There is something so astounding about watching a child grow.…continue reading →

A Tough Week

A Tough Week

This week has been a tough one, I'm not going to lie. Kirsty has been very unwell and following a series of misleading information by health are professionals she ended up in hospital, which is where she needed to be from day one. I won't go into the in's and out's but it was so horrible to see her like that. Seeing the person you love curled in a ball unable to move because of pain is heart breaking. I may not have shown it at the time but it made me feel…continue reading →
We don’t all feel the same

We don’t all feel the same

I love women, like really love them, it's why I married one. My wife is a pretty awesome woman and one I am glad took the time to get to know me, fall in love with me and spend the rest of my life with me. Because, well she loves women too, that we have in common. But there is a lot we don't have in common, we don't feel the same about a lot of things. It can be easy sometimes to feel everyone must feel the same as them. When Clara…continue reading →

Shop and donate – Care2Save #AD

Clara and I are both fans of shopping online. With us both working full time, our shopping days are rare, so the opportunity to pop online and purchase gifts is great for us. Another thing we love to do is support charities that mean a lot to us, so when we were introduced to Care2Save a site that allows you to shop and donate to your favourite charity just by spending, we were impressed. Care2Save is a registered charity who aim to support the development and growth of supportive, palliative and hospice care…continue reading →
Christmas at Coombe Mill

Christmas at Coombe Mill

Ever since we met the lovely Fi from Coombe Mill, we knew that one day we'd make a visit to her beautiful farm set in Cornwall. Clara and I have fond memories of Cornwall as it's the lovely county we visited for our honeymoon back in 2010. Plus, being an outdoor loving family Coombe Mill encapsulates everything we love about holidays. For the last few years we have tried to win Christmas at Coombe Mill and followed those who won with much joy at seeing how people fall in love with everything Fiona's…continue reading →
Darker days darker nights

Darker days darker nights

I love this time of year, my favourite events fall within these three months. Halloween has always been such a fun time for me, then fireworks night holds fond memories of hot soup and hot chocolate and then Christmas is a time for family fun and being thankful. The only downside to this time of year, is the darker days and darker nights. With us both working full time, the hours we get between waking and work and work and bed are dark. These hours are what we call family hours, they are…continue reading →
