Finding our calm

Finding our calm

I've often written about beach trips and nights spent on the sand, due to how much time we spend at the beach. Clara and I have a great connection to the coast and are glad our little man has created his own link to the beach. We are certainly a family that find our calm there. This weekend we had some friends visiting and decided to take them to our favourite beach, Sandbanks Poole. We've fallen in love with this beach since moving to Dorset and were happy to share it with our friends.…continue reading →

Vlogging with an iPhone 6 #CollectiveBias

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #CollectiveBias When Clara and I started daily vlogging we decided to capture our footage on a camera we always had on us, this proved to be our iPhone 6. We are both big Apple fans and really love how easy the iPhone camera features are to use. Even our little man is able to capture usable footage on our phones. The camera offers several different features that we both use to add to our vlogs. Video…continue reading →
Moors Valley Park – Getting Fit

Moors Valley Park – Getting Fit

We've always been clear about how much we love Moors Valley Park. Since moving to Dorset it has become our second home. We don't let a month pass without a visit. Sunshine or showers, we don't let the weather put us off. We've visited in every season and enjoyed watching the changes around us as we walk within the woodland. Recently we decided it would be a very good place to get us fit and healthy in preparation for an adventure we've decided to tackle next year. This year I was inspired to…continue reading →
The end of two

The end of two

In just over two months our little man will leave two behind and turn three. It seems like it's been the fastest 3 years of our lives. We've watched this little human so dependent on us, become this energetic boy with bags of confidence and a huge sense of independence. He's funny, stubborn, great at stories and loves to sing all day. Though I'm sad the baby days are well and truly packed away, I'm excited for the days that lay ahead. We've no more reminders of a tiny human. The cot's been in…continue reading →
Love books? Try Blloon

Love books? Try Blloon

SADLY THIS APP NO LONGER WORKS. I love books, I don't mean just casual reading, I mean I love reading, listening and stroking *ahem* books. I can often be heard sharing my wish for a superhero power that allows me to read books by running my hands across the covers. I am always looking for new ways to discover books, so was quite interested when I spotted a new app called Blloon in the app store a few months ago. It was promoted as being the Netflix of books and well I am…continue reading →
At the heart of us

At the heart of us

Yesterday I took Monkey back to my home town. I grew up in Surrey, not the posh part, actually far from it and although I didn't have the best upbringing I still try to hold onto the many good memories there. I've always wanted an excuse to drive past the house with my little boy in the back and my wife by my side. So that's what we did. I pointed to all the places I've talked about over the years, remarking how nothing much has changed. I drove down the street where…continue reading →
Living with the checks

Living with the checks

Going to bed or leaving the house takes me longer than my wife. For this reason I prefer the days where I am first up to bed or first out the front door. Even then I find myself sneaking back to the front door or wandering in to the kitchen to look at the window. As someone diagnosed with OCD, I have learned that living with the checks is easier for me than trying to pretend they don't exist. My OCD is like living with a really annoying roommate who watches you to make…continue reading →
IUI in Denmark

IUI in Denmark

Since C and I decided to start trying for another baby, I've been thinking about the journey we took when we first began our baby making adventure. We've never really written about our very first attempt at starting a family as we felt it was a personal experience and I think we were left feeling a little sad it wasn't successful. But we were blessed with a little man via other means and feel that talking about our IUI experience in Denmark could help another couple kick start their journey towards a family.…continue reading →
Yumbox, Healthy portions and picky eaters.

Yumbox, Healthy portions and picky eaters.

When I first discovered the Yumbox, I won't lie, I was a little put off by the price. I couldn't justify spending £24.95 on a lunchbox, especially if I wanted to get myself AND M one. But over time I read lots of reviews, trawled the Yumbox hashtag on Instagram and decided that it was a beaut of a lunchbox and could imagine it helping our little picky eater and get my healthy eating under control. We were very kindly sent a Yumbox from the new spring range to see if it was…continue reading →
