Gay Mum

Gay Mum

As you can imagine, we get asked a lot of questions about our life and living as a same sex couple and we are more than happy to answer most questions. We usually have an answer straight away, and most of these questions are quite straight forward like - 'How did you know you were gay?' 'How did you decide who would carry your son?' And 'How did you conceive Monkey?' Etc etc. . . I could go on for a very long time. However the other week someone asked me a question…continue reading →
Superworm Trail – Moors Valley Country Park

Superworm Trail – Moors Valley Country Park

We are very lucky to leave within an hour of a fantastic woodland area called Moors Valley Country Park. If you're regular readers you will have read at least one post mentioning a visit. Moors Valley is a great place to spend the day and is home to many different permanent and temporary trails throughout the year. When M was small we walked the Stickman trail, last year we walked the Gruffalo Trail and this month we were invited to take the Superworm Trail. The trail takes you round the gorgeous lake, situated…continue reading →
You are our everything

You are our everything

After recent media regarding the disappointing and possibly damaging remarks made by Dolce and Gabbana, I've been thinking more and more about the comments our son may be subjected to as he grows up. We are well aware that he will encounter some remarks in his future, but we hope as society progresses and changes in the LGBT community continue to raise awareness for same sex families that people will be much more accepting by the time our son is an adult. One day I hope he reads our blog and is able to see…continue reading →
Room in the freezer – Foodsaver #Review

Room in the freezer – Foodsaver #Review

Being a small family unit, all with different food tastes, food waste is something we try our best to avoid. Since we had our little man we've tried our best to use all we can in many different meals and then freeze what we can't use for a later date. Though sometimes this has proved difficult due to room in the freezer. We only have a small freezer and with dishes and boxed items it soon becomes full. Which is why the Foodsaver has become a bit of a life saver, as well…continue reading →
Team Honk Danceathon 2015

Team Honk Danceathon 2015

It's taken me almost a week to put this post together due to how emotionally tired I'd been since experiencing something I will never forget. If you are regular readers you may remember us scooting around town as part of the Team Honk relay. We felt honoured to be a part of something so amazing and practically leaped at the chance to be part of the team again this year. When we discovered the challenge was going to be a 6 hour danceathon at Wembley Arena, we both signed up and started to…continue reading →
New home

New home

One of our closest friends, Kara from Innocent Charms Chats is a constant inspiration to us and recently started sharing the corners of her home. We felt inspired to share some corners of our new home and now that we are settled and the boxes are almost gone, I was able to snap a little bit of us around our home. When we moved in we decided our little dude's bedroom would be the first room to get fixed up and looking sharp. We're not quite finished putting the final touches on to…continue reading →

There are plenty of stories to tell; some…continue reading →

What the Redhead said – Monday’s Modern Families

We are so excited to be welcoming Monday's modern families back to our blog this year. We enjoyed sharing posts from so many fantastic parents during the last series, that we wanted to continue giving a platform to more lovely people. This new series kicks off with someone who has always been a great supporter of our blog. Donna is a 30 year old Mum of two living in Surrey. She spends all her time juggling family life with a shift working Husband and working part time herself for a High Street bank. When…continue reading →
Tips for brushing your toddler’s teeth

Tips for brushing your toddler’s teeth

One of our biggest daily routine struggles with M, aside from the fussy eating, was getting him to brush his teeth. Toddlers are busy people and ours likes to be on the go constantly, so getting him to stay still for two minutes to brush his teeth, at times, felt like a nightmare. But after trying different methods and making it fun, we though we would share some tips for brushing your toddler's teeth, now that we've got it down to a fine art. Let them see you brush your teeth - We…continue reading →

What’s in C’s Handbag? – #sponsored

When I announced my pregnancy, almost everyone immediately asked me what changing bag I was going to buy. Anyone who knew me well, just couldn’t picture me walking around with a handbag. I think that is why so many people were interested in our choice. Unlike some women, I have never really felt the need to carry ‘things’ around with me. I don’t wear a lot of make-up and never usually need to top it up throughout the day. I don’t like lots of key rings or have a gigantic purse and usually…continue reading →
