May 2017 – Home Life Project

This month our home life has had a big change and I love that it coincided with the weekend I take our Home Life Project photos. I cheated a little this weekend as I have captured images on both days as I wanted the memories of our first two days with our new puppy Beau to be captured in full. On the Saturday we decided to go see a puppy locally that was looking for a new home. We had no idea that 30 minutes after meeting we would be heading home with…continue reading →
and then there were four

and then there were four

I knew the time would come when we would grow our family, but to be honest I didn't expect it to be so soon. M is now very much an independent little boy who can keep himself busy when he wants to and manage small tasks around the house like making his own drink or grabbing his own snacks. His 5th birthday is just around the corner and we are finally looking at a proper little school boy that can hold long conversations and pose interesting questions at tea time. We hadn't planned…continue reading →
Family memories to treasure

Family memories to treasure

Back in March we were sent to Lanzarote for the weekend to take part in a photo shoot for an Airbnb campaign. It was a whirlwind break and was packed full of moments I am sure we will never forget. One of the days we worked from morning until early evening travelling across the island to get the required shots. It was surreal at times as despite being part of a couple of other marketing campaigns, this was our first outside of a studio/home. We are always truly grateful for any opportunity our…continue reading →
Wishing for adventure

Wishing for adventure

The very first moment I first started thinking about having my own family I imagined I would have a son. I imagined my son would love being outdoors and have a thirst for adventure. I thought about all the experiences we would enjoy together and wonder what kind of man he would grow in to. Then I met someone who took my heart and eventually brought that son in to the world. A son I had imagined meeting for many years. At that moment I was just happy to have a son. My…continue reading →
Easter Egg Hunt at Farmer Palmers

Easter Egg Hunt at Farmer Palmers

Easter weekend was definitely a full on family adventure weekend for us. Clara's mum had very kindly given us vouchers for our local farm, so we decided to attend the Easter Egg Hunt at Farmer Palmers. We always love visiting Farmer Palmers as it's got the right amount of activities to keep M busy for the day. With an indoor play area, hay bale slide section, bouncy castles as well as animals, there is always something M can enjoy. When we first arrived M headed straight for the ride on tractor trailers. I…continue reading →
Scouting needs you

Scouting needs you

From the age of 6 I entered the girl guides community as a Rainbow and worked my way through Brownies, Guides and assisted my mum as a Rainbow leader. They were the best years in my childhood memories. I learned about teamwork, building fires, putting up canvas tents and working towards a goal. Throughout my time as a Girl Guide I had a strong desire to be a Scout, but at the time girls were not widely accepted into the Scouts right up until ten years ago. But one thing I knew was…continue reading →
A London trip and Lego

A London trip and Lego

Just over a week ago I got an invite to London to learn about the new Google Home smart device designed to make you more present at home. With it being the Easter holiday half term I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to take the day off work to take M on a trip to London to see Google HQ and the Lego Store. M loves visiting London as much as we do, especially when trains are involved, so to save on the congestion charge and car park fees I decided…continue reading →
The Easter Egg Hunt at Kingston Lacy

The Easter Egg Hunt at Kingston Lacy

When we became National Trust members we decided to truly make the most of our membership during every season. Our first event we wanted to enjoy this year was the Easter Egg Hunt at Kingston Lacy which runs until 23rd April. ¬†When we discovered the weather was going to be glorious on Sunday we knew that had to be the day we took on the hunt. It seemed everyone in Dorset had the same idea, as when we turned up just after 10am the main car park was almost full. The egg hunt…continue reading →
The garden I wanted

The garden I wanted

I have great memories of playing in gardens as a child. My favourite was always my Uncle Bob's. Every Summer we'd play badminton or frisbee avoiding his greenhouse as best we could. We'd admire his beautiful Bonsai trees and sit in the sun at many a BBQ. The garden I wanted M to grow up in had to be able to offer him wonderful memories too. When we discovered our new home we were concerned the garden would be a bit small. We were lucky to be buying a house with so much…continue reading →
The busiest March

The busiest March

March has been a busy month. In fact it feels like our busiest month so far. My Timehop has been reminding me of all the years we moved in March, so I was quite pleased we did not have that to throw into the mix this year. Our month started with a great trip to Arrecife and ended with a segway adventure. It feels like we've really made the most of family time this month with us all finally settling to life in our new home and the work/school routine. We've loved seeing…continue reading →
