Hospital Bag – Postnatal

Hospital Bag – Postnatal

You can find a full list of what we packed in my Hospital bag on this post here. Before I had Monkey the big emphasis of the 3rd Trimester was the Hospital Bag. I spent countless hours deciding what I should take and it took me weeks until it was finally ready to go. So I thought I would write a review.   Must Haves X2 Pillows - K and I both used them to help us sleep and for a little home comfort. Really important whilst in hospital. Maternity Towels and Disposable…continue reading →
Prepare for an induction.

Prepare for an induction.

If you read our post about C's Wonky liver. You'll know that an induction was on the cards. We just didn't know when.   We had been told to return the next day for more tests. I spent the whole night worrying. Every hour was an hour my baby was potentially at risk. Saturday morning arrived, we made the last few checks of the hospital bags and set off at lunchtime. Almost as soon as we arrived, C was on the monitor. It was tense, no mention of an induction. That was until…continue reading →
Another hospital run

Another hospital run

I'm writing this blog post from the hospital ward as my wife sits next to me doing a sudoku. You may think I should have something much better to do than write a post but anyone who's spent any time in hospital knows they can be incredibly boring. We've played charades, word association and our favourite game: find the most random artwork in the hospital. The iPad was on our hospital bag list. But due to us thinking this would be a casual visit we didn't pack it. Don't get me wrong, it's…continue reading →
I can see the finish line

I can see the finish line

On July the 18th C will be considered Full term. Before she got pregnant I hadn't given much thought to what that meant. It's sort of like someone saying baby is ok to come now and it could. Which means we have to be ready. Every minute of each day is a step closer to holding our baby. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing my wife pregnant. She looks amazing and is definitely sporting the lovely pregnancy glow so many books talk about. But I would like to meet our baby now.…continue reading →
Everyday

Everyday

Recently we have been following The Gallery over at Sticky Fingers blog. We have decided to join in with this weeks theme. Go check out her blog to join in. This weeks theme is Everyday. Since November the thing we do everyday is capture almost every moment of C's pregnancy. Belly shots from the side, belly shots on outings, family belly shots. I don't recall seeing any pictures of my mum when she was pregnant with me. Cameras weren't just with you everywhere you went. With the luxury of owning a smart phone…continue reading →
Pregnancy Hospital Bag and Checklist

Pregnancy Hospital Bag and Checklist

Everyone is different when it comes to preparation for your baby's arrival. We wanted to pack my Pregnancy hospital bag at 30 weeks, but time got the better of us. Now it's finally packed at 35 weeks. We spent weeks reading baby sites, blogs and watching vlogs on YouTube to help us pack the perfect bag for baby and I. We use the term perfect lightly. I'm sure there will be items I don't use and will think they are redundant once baby is here. But that's for another post. I have packed…continue reading →
My, What a bump.

My, What a bump.

Today Kirsty and I noticed how different my bump seemed. I am carrying very low and out front. Which most people familiar with old wives tales will tell you is meant to mean you're carrying a boy. Since Kirsty and I decided not to find out our little ones gender, we have no way of knowing how true this old wives tale is until it arrives in a few weeks. We love documenting the bumps growth so we've made a little comparison pic. Did you carry low and out front and have a…continue reading →

Pregnancy Cliché

Since entering the third & final trimester I feel like I have become a big walking pregnancy cliche. Kirsty & I saw 'What to Expect When You're Expecting' the other week & I could completely sympathise with Elizabeth Bank's character Wendy, for those of you who have seen the film you'll know exactly what I'm on about, for those of you that haven't I will explain (Go & see it if you can!) I am no longer able to stand up from a chair without my wife's assistance or without pushing my hips…continue reading →
Bed rest & Boobs

Bed rest & Boobs

For the last 2 weeks I have been signed off work on bed rest due to sickness & a fainting spell. I’ve never fainted before & it was very scary. I immediately booked myself an emergency doctor’s appointment  as I’ve learnt during this pregnancy, that it’s always better to be safe than sorry. Thankfully my blood pressure was normal & the doctor explained that it may have just been a dip. However as I am still having bad morning sickness they decided it was best for me & the baby that I take…continue reading →
