A SUP (Stand Up Paddle-board) Adventure

A SUP (Stand Up Paddle-board) Adventure

A few months ago Clara purchased a SUP (Stand Up Paddle-board), after discovering a love for it. Clara's never really been one for hobbies, so it was great she finally had something she could enjoy in our beautiful part of the Country. Our little man is very much a water baby and was just as eager to get out on the Paddle-Board, so we treated him to a wetsuit and life jacket and took him to Studland for our first family SUP adventure. I'm not a strong swimmer and I have terrible balance,…continue reading →
Moors Valley Park – Autumn Fun

Moors Valley Park – Autumn Fun

It's rare that the little dude and I get a whole day to ourselves, especially a week day. So I made sure I booked a day off last week and took the opportunity to take him to enjoy some Autumn fun at Moors Valley Park. We had no plans other than to have fun and explore. On our arrival the little dude spotted a Halloween craft event taking place, so we decided to join in and made a lovely little sand art picture. It was lovely to have no plans as we were…continue reading →
Camp Bestival – Festival Packing List

Camp Bestival – Festival Packing List

If you're a regular reader you will know that we are off to Camp Bestival at the end of the month. As soon as we found out we were going we put together a festival packing list, so we thought we'd share it for those attending their first festival. Camp Bestival will be the first festival eitherĀ of us have attended, but with a bit of research, experience camping and asking around we feel our festival packing list is sufficient enough. The following list is what we'll be taking, festival regulars may have more…continue reading →
Gaining confidence

Gaining confidence

When I asked the Universe for a healthy happy child, I also asked for one with awesome climbing skills and bucket loads of adventurous confidence. It seems that universe was listening that day and even though our little man suffers from a little bit of social shyness, he makes up for it with his confidence in climbing, jumping and general rough and tumble playfulness. Visits to the park are one of our favourite things to do at the weekend. It's become a measurement of milestones, from week to week M seems to master…continue reading →
We love Geocaching

We love Geocaching

I've been geocaching for several years now and I can safely say I love geocaching. I recently took monkey to his first ever Geocahe flash mob and to log his first 3 caches and sparked several conversations about caching on twitter. So I thought I'd write a post to share what I know about geocaching and hopefully inspire you to all get outdoors and start finding some. Geocaching is like one big worldwide treasure hunt. The quickest way to describe it is, someone hides a cache (box or film canister for example), they…continue reading →
50 Things – One boy and his many adventures

50 Things – One boy and his many adventures

I have always loved an adventure, climbing trees, making dens, discovering bugs and locating geocaches. I even loved doing these things as a child too. My mum used to say she could never dress me in white as I'd find something to do and end up coming back dressed in a dusty grey. I'm really pleased that our little man seems to have adventurers blood too, which we are encouraging as much as we can. We are both strong believers in allowing children to be children, get dirty, explore and learn through experience.…continue reading →
