Quinny Moodd Stroller – Review

Quinny Moodd Stroller – Review

When Kirsty and I started looking for strollers for Monkey I was adamant that we wouldn't buy a 3 wheeler. I didn't think they seemed safe from a stability point of view. So when we were asked to review the Quinny Moodd Stroller I was a little skeptical, however after using it constantly for the last month I can easily say I have eaten my words. I love this pushchair. We live out in the country and love to go for walks around parks and woodland areas. In the past we have really…continue reading →

That’s My Son.

That’s My Son.

Monkey loves to hear his own voice. He's practicing a lot now and can't always understand why the middle of a restaurant isn't a good time to see how loud he can shout. We try to get him to reduce the volume when situation requires, we let him know that his voice sounds lovely and we tell him he is oh so clever for learning a new word. But at 13 months, he is exploring. I want him to learn the many sounds he is capable of. I love hearing the excitement he…continue reading →
The big bad I said No

The big bad I said No

Recently I've felt that all I've said to Monkey is no. M is such a mobile, independent little man and he's started to explore his boundaries. I feel we've done quite a good job of baby proofing, but there are still places around the house that little fingers shouldn't be. As much as I try to find another way to explain why M shouldn't be hitting the television or putting his hands down the toilet, the first word that finds its way to my lips is no. Monkey knows that no is a…continue reading →
Space Party – Monkey Turns One

Space Party – Monkey Turns One

When C and I decided we were going to throw M a space party for his 1st Birthday, I took to Pinterest and started pinning every image related to throwing a space party. We knew we wanted to make his party special, even if he wouldn't remember it. At least we will have the memories saved here for him. We invited some close friends and family and C's Mum hired the local village hall for us. It was a little on the big side, but with some imaginative dividing of space with chairs,…continue reading →
Where has my baby gone?

Where has my baby gone?

This isn't going to be one of those posts where I sob over how fast our little man is growing. In fact I'm enjoying watching our little man explore the world he can now reach and touch. When I see him toddling around the park, I often smile to myself and wonder when that exact moment was I thought "Where has my baby gone?". I know many will say he hasn't gone, he will always be my baby. For C I know this to be true. She often tells him, he will be…continue reading →
What comes after one?

What comes after one?

In 3 weeks today my baby boy turns one years old. I'm both dreading it and willing it to come. I can't wait to see my boy on his birthday, family members showering him with love, gifts and cake whilst mummy quietly sobs in a corner (only joking). I am going to be the proudest mother in the whole world! However, there is a niggling question that I keep asking myself - what comes after 1? Everyone I speak to keeps saying, "Oh, you're going to see such a change in him once…continue reading →
My Baby Choked

My Baby Choked

Yesterday at dinner time, one of our worst fears as mothers became a reality, our beautiful little boy started choking. It was a normal evening. It has been so hot this last week I decided to make a light soup for tea. Whilst I was dishing up we decided to give M a little bit of soup dunked bread to keep him occupied. It wasn't a large piece, to be honest he's had bigger pieces but this time it went down the wrong way. I sat down ready to feed him and noticed…continue reading →
We’re making memories

We’re making memories

When C and I were dating she told me about her favourite family memory from when she was a child. It involved her mum packing them into the car late at night, covering them with a duvet and driving down to Brighton beach. She would then buy them fish and child which they would eat on the beach, before driving home and jumping in to bed. C's face used to light up when she spoke about this memory. Something as simple as visiting the beach has formed one of her favourite memories. When…continue reading →
Someone Special

Someone Special

Tonight Monkey sat on my lap and held my hand. He held my hand for at least ten minutes. He likes to stroke my nails usually, but this time he was content to just sit and hold my hand. Our little man has been a whizzing whirling ball of energy since he learnt to walk. Everything has to be touched and inspected or picked up and carried around the room. But tonight he was happy to take ten minutes out of his busy schedule, to sit on the bed with his two mummies…continue reading →
