Sailing the Camp Bestival Sea – 2018

Sailing the Camp Bestival Sea – 2018

This year the theme at Camp Bestival was setting sail. Leading up to the event we'd experienced one of the hottest Summers ever, so we were sure we'd have a super sunny time. We also knew the British Summer was not to be trusted, so despite packing 3 roll on sun creams, we also packed our wellies, rain coats and an Ikea bag to pop wet and muddy clothes in. The weekend started out super hot. Thursday is traditionally known as the set up camp and relax day, so we arrived super early…continue reading →

5 things to try at Camp Bestival

The sleeping bags are drying in the garden, the tent has been aired and packed away and the washing bin is nearly empty, but our memories of Camp Bestival 2018 are going to last a lifetime! This year was certainly eventful in many ways, but possibly included some of our favourite ever moments at Camp Bestival. As Camp Bestival prepares to launch next years tickets with a 72 hour pre-sale, with adult weekend tickets available to buy for the amazing price of ¬£150, you might be wondering why you should buy tickets to…continue reading →
Camp Bestival making waves to save the planet

Camp Bestival making waves to save the planet

As Camp Bestival prepares its sails to launch across the Dorset Countryside, it's also making waves that could help our environment. I'm always interested how events and brands we love are making positive changes towards helping our planet become greener, so I checked out ways in which Camp Bestival are helping to save the planet. The first area I noticed Camp Bestival making big positive changes in this year, was the removal of plastic water bottles. This is great news, as we all know how much plastic is damaging our land and seas.…continue reading →
Tips for your first time at Camp Bestival

Tips for your first time at Camp Bestival

This year will be our 5th year at Camp Bestival and I'll be honest, it's been my favourite part of the Summer each year we've attended. Back in 2014 when we discovered we would be heading down to Lulworth for our first time at Camp Bestival, I frantically started searching for tips to help me prep for our family festival weekend. Each year we've had different experiences, learned new tips, seen great acts, discovered different ways to enjoy ourselves and felt we should share some tips for those visiting for the first time…continue reading →
Big Fish Little Fish Rave, Bournemouth

Big Fish Little Fish Rave, Bournemouth

One of our favourite events to visit each year since we discovered they existed, is a Big Fish Little Fish rave. When M was only small we got invited to our first Big Fish Little Fish party (a 2-4 Hour Party for little people and their parents) in London. It was a Halloween event where we met our friends West Country Mum for the first time and got us hooked on the mixture of dancing and craft with your kids. This year we got invited back the the Bournemouth Big Fish Little Fish…continue reading →
Camp Bestival – Kids Activities

Camp Bestival – Kids Activities

Now that Camp Bestival has announced they are setting sail next year, our thoughts have already turned to the kids activities we can expect. Camp Bestival is a fantastic family festival full of fun for everyone, which offers children the opportunity to experience new and exciting things each year. We thought we'd share some of M's favourite kids activities from this years' Camp Bestival to give you an idea what to expect when you take your family in 2018. I thought I could just ramble on and attempt to put into words the…continue reading →

Camp Bestival gets ready for 2018

Every¬† year around this time we get excited to discover the theme for Camp Bestival, the best family festival in the UK. We've enjoyed a trip to Space, explored the wild and rocked with popstars. We knew our little man would LOVE this year's theme, so we created him his own little map and set him some clues to discover the treasure that is the theme for next years Camp Bestival. M's pirate costume was perfect for his adventure as he took to the garden with his map. As he tried to guess…continue reading →
Food at Camp Bestival 2017

Food at Camp Bestival 2017

It's hard to believe that it's been two weeks since Camp Bestival already. We've recently been thinking about the great food at Camp Bestival and wishing we were back there enjoying a DJ BBQ burger. We noticed that one of the most popular things people asked us about attending Camp Bestival was, "What is the food like at Camp Bestival?". So each year we attended we have tried to write about the food we ate. We thought by our 4th year we'd have shared our favourites, but as there is simply so much…continue reading →
Fun festival family time

Fun festival family time

I've lost count of how many people keep asking us if we are enjoying having lots of family time this Summer holidays. Now that M is at school it is easy to think that we look forward to the Summer holidays for a break and some family adventures. Except both C and I work full time, so half term and Summer holidays are just regular weeks to us. We manage to book the odd day off with him, but the rest of his time is spent between lovely grandparents that help us out.…continue reading →
Staying connected at Camp Bestival

Staying connected at Camp Bestival

This year we are incredibly lucky to be asked to be Official Rock-star Camp Bestival Bloggers again this year. It's the highlight of our Summer, actually pretty much our whole year and an event we love to document with pictures, videos and streaming on our social media sites. All this memory capturing can take it's toll on a mobile phone or GoPro battery. This is going to leave you either frustrated staring at a flashing dying battery, or you can be prepared and enjoy staying connected at Camp Bestival with the Music Angel…continue reading →
