Out more than in

Out more than in

There is no hiding the fact that we are a family that love to spend more time outside than in. As the months get darker and colder, we seem to spend much more time enjoying wet welly walks and exploring the woods. We have noticed that we are a much happier, healthier family when we spend lots of time enjoying the great outdoors and discovering new places to visit. Our little man is amazing us every day, with how much he knows about the world and how keen he is to discover more.…continue reading →
Where’s the time gone?

Where’s the time gone?

As we find ourselves on the cusp of October, I can't help but wonder where the time has gone this year. At the start of the year we set ourselves one of our biggest challenges yet, to vlog daily throughout 2015. We had no idea vlogging daily would take so much time from us and also take time away from each other. We've never been ones to blog for stats or vlog for views, so once we realised vlogging daily wasn't as fun as we'd hoped, we pulled the plug at day 264.…continue reading →
Something we can all do

Something we can all do

I love finding activities we can do as a family, not just places we can go and see, but things we can actively do together. Learning to skateboard has been a desire of mine since I was a child, though it was something I never mastered. In the year before I turned 30 I ticked off a things before I'm 30 list and learning to skateboard was on there. I mastered staying upright on it, but I never really managed to do anything you could specifically call skateboarding. More like push and standing.…continue reading →
Family fireworks – 2014

Family fireworks – 2014

Last year on the 5th November, we watched fireworks being lit in our back garden by M's Grandad whilst we stood safely in the conservatory. M wasn't too impressed with the bangs and flashes so was happy to observe from a distance. This year M was much more impressed by all the beautiful colours, but was just as happy to watch from behind glass. I on the other hand enjoyed a close up view *well as close as safety allows*. I had read a couple of blog posts about how to capture firework…continue reading →
Family in Ruins

Family in Ruins

Don't panic, this isn't a post about a family breakdown. This title accurately describes September's family photo. We were very kindly sent a National Trust Touring pass to use on a trip to a location of our choice. We choice a local National Trust site that we all love, Corfe Castle. We've taken M to Corfe Castle twice now and it's interesting to see how much he's developed since his last visit. As we climbed the ruins he wowed in awe at the giant structure before him. He laughed as his little voice…continue reading →
Most Adventurous Family with GoPro

Most Adventurous Family with GoPro

Last month the lovely people at GoPro started their search to find Britain's Most Adventurous Family within the parent blogging community. We were selected to see how adventurous we could be with a GoPro Hero3+ and a series of mounts. I like to think we are pretty adventurous all the time. So we didn't get up to anything that we wouldn't normally do, except maybe climb a mountain, we don't make a habit of doing that, although we feel we've been bitten by the mountain climbing bug. I tried to convince Clara to…continue reading →
Family Fun

Family Fun

Each month I get to the end and am amazed by how fast it has flown by. August really did fly by. With birthdays and celebrations, challenges and holidays, the end of the month came and went and my 'me and mine'¬†post didn't get posted on time for the first time. Now we're back into the flow of the 9-5 and regular family time, I've been able to look back over the month. At first I struggled to find a picture of all three of us, until I looked at the photos on…continue reading →
Big Birthday Smiles

Big Birthday Smiles

Last week I looked at our Me and Mine picture from last July. It was taken on Bournemouth pier on M's 1st birthday and he looks quite moody due to teething and tiredness and everything that comes along with turning one. This year we wanted to take our Me and Mine picture on his birthday, so that we could compare the exact difference a year makes. It seems that a year makes a huge difference! Our little man is now not only bigger, cheekier, cuter and older, he has learned to smile on…continue reading →
Family Summer life list – 2014

Family Summer life list – 2014

Last year I read a post on one of our favourite blogs "More than words", a post about a summer list. A list full of fun activities they wanted to enjoy during the beautiful weather. I just knew we had to write one this year. M is old enough to be able to take part in lots of exciting activities and adventures, so we put together a fun list of things to do. Something that came top of our list was thought of during a recent trip to the beach. We decided that…continue reading →
Beach time is us time

Beach time is us time

We've mentioned our love for the beach before. We've even ¬†used a family beach shot for our Me and Mine picture previously. The beach is somewhere which grounds us. When life is crazy or we've all been too busy to spend time with each other, a beach visit always brings us back together. Our favourite way to enjoy the beach is at night, when most visitors have packed away their cars to head home. We stop off at the local supermarket or chip shop and enjoy some beach on the sand, before dipping…continue reading →
