One big crazy family

One big crazy family

This month has all been about family. We've spent time with family, cried with family, laughed with family and been totally crazy with family. We know that phrase you can't choose your family is one we both used to laugh about, but right now, we are super happy for the family we have. This month has dragged and we are quite happy for it to be over. Our family photo this month was taken in my folks back garden. I try and keep our extended family photos updated so that we have a…continue reading →

As we woke up on Bank Holiday Monday, we decided we would take a trip to our favourite woods, Moors Valley Park. The weather was a little drizzly and cold, but we consider ourselves prepared for all weather conditions. Armed with pac a macs, wellies and a small picnic, we piled into the car and sang during our journey to the woods. Moors Valley Park is fast becoming somewhere lots of happy days are spent. With plenty to see and do, several play areas and lots of trees to climb, there is something…continue reading →
Nothing beats a family BBQ

Nothing beats a family BBQ

Family BBQ's hold great memories for me. Every summer when I was young, we'd visit my Uncle Bob's bungalow and feast ourselves on the best buffet BBQ in all of Surrey. Uncle Bob had one of the most interesting gardens too. At one end he'd occasionally put up a badminton net and at the other end he had a mini display of fabulous Bonsai trees, which always amazed me. In the smallest room in Uncle Bob's bungalow was a darkroom. Uncle Bob was a very talented photographer and developed all his own photos…continue reading →
Beach bums

Beach bums

As soon as we moved to Dorset we fell in love with the beach. We visited when the sun was shining and the beach was full and we visited with our dinner as the sun was setting. If we needed to escape our little flat we packed up the car and drove to the beach to walk across the sand and dip out toes in the sea. When C was pregnant we talked about our plans to raise a little beach lover. A child that loved to spend time at the beach and…continue reading →
Closer than Close

Closer than Close

What a January we've had, we wanted this year to be a good one and it's been great and testing at times already, but we've tried to see the unexpected happiness within it. We've carried the Team Honk baton round Dorset, saw our Ikea Feature go live, watched our little main gain some confidenceĀ and then go through something nothing prepares you for. Through everything that's happened this month I feel that we've grown closer. Our little man's speech is improving every day and we all love to sit together and practice words and…continue reading →
So much family time

So much family time

This month is the final Me and Mine post we will be sharing in 2013. We've had so much fun joining in and linking up a family portrait each month. I've made a conscious effort to appear before the lens with the ones I love, instead of hiding away whilst I snap. If you visit our Family in Photos page you can see the changes our little man has gone through. It's been great to capture a visual memory of each month. We will certainly be joining in during 2014. December has been…continue reading →
Family, behind the scenes

Family, behind the scenes

We love having a blog, the friends we have met through blogging are some of the funniest, most interesting people we know *though we do have some very cool non blogging friends*. The opportunities that have arisen through blogging continue to amaze and surprise us each day, we really don't take anything for granted and are so grateful for any thing that comes our way. Blogging about our family is something we hold quite dear to our hearts. We want to open the doors to same-sex families and show that we are just…continue reading →
Last Little Picture, at Legoland

Last Little Picture, at Legoland

This month has been one of the most busy months we've had since having Monkey. We got to take M to his first blogging conference where he had the time of his life, surrounded by women giving him lots of attention. We then went to Legoland as a reward for being finalists in the Mad Blog Awards. It was M's first time at a theme park and he loved it. His little face lit up on the rides and he loved getting wet on the little train. The lovely Bex from Mummy Adventure…continue reading →

This month has flown by, it seems that now M can travel faster than ever before, the days are moving faster. The bank holiday weekend just past, allowed us to enjoy a packed family weekend. It was great to experience some beautiful sunny weather. Our weekend was spent enjoying playing in the garden with M's new water table and ball Pool. On the Monday we all went on a family trip to Farmer Palmers. Our Me & Mine family portrait is a shot I love for it's spontaneity and lack of attention to…continue reading →
The weekend is family time.

The weekend is family time.

Since I went back to work when Monkey was 3 weeks old, the weekends have been known as family time. As soon as 5pm on a Friday rolls around, I rejoice in the fact that I get two whole days with my favourite people. If I still worked in retail, as I did for 12 years, this wouldn't be the case. But I'm incredibly grateful for the job I have now as it allows me these two days to look forward to at the start of each week. Our weekends are also where…continue reading →
