A positive mental attitude – Thinking Slimmer – AD

A positive mental attitude – Thinking Slimmer – AD

On the 1st July, Kirsty and I started on a weight-loss and well-being programme with Thinking Slimmer and are currently In our 4th week of the Slimpod Gold 12 week programme.  Since starting the programme I have noticed a huge change in the choices I am making in regards to food intake. My portion sizes are smaller and I am making healthier choices across the entire day. Over the past year I have been using food as a distraction from issues and anxieties I have been experiencing in life. Since losing the majority…continue reading →

Trek the Himalayas with Coppafeel and Fabulous Magazine

Since we started our blog, over 7 years ago, the support and kindness we have received is and has always been so overwhelming. Sometimes we often have to sit back and pinch ourselves that we have the opportunity to share our lives and experiences as two mums to our beautiful M, with you all. We also appreciate that blogging has given us a wonderful platform to reach so many amazing people, so that we can help those who need us the most. In the past we have taken part in fundraising challenges for…continue reading →
Making positive life changes

Making positive life changes

It feels like Clara and I are great at working towards a specific fitness goal over the years, but we've never really got to our final targets. We've both had a target we want to reach, fitness and weight loss wise, but always seem to wander off the path towards them. But this year feels different and I am well aware that I've probably said that before, but honestly this time we are reaching targets we've not reached this well before. With us both needing operations in the not too distant future, lowering…continue reading →
No more excuses

No more excuses

You know that wardrobe, cupboard or room, we all seem to have in the house. You fill it with lots of stuff until you can't get the door shut and then you keep nudging the door to make sure it's closed and then one weekend you spend hours sorting through it and cleaning it out. You take things to the tip, give things to charity and promise yourself you won't ever fill the room up like that ever again. Two months down and you look at the room, door slightly ajar and you…continue reading →
Porridge on Tuesday Giveaway

Porridge on Tuesday Giveaway

October has come around faster that ever this year. Our plans to become fit and healthy Mummies by Christmas, is still well under way. We know that healthy eating and exercising is a long-term commitment and not an overnight fix. We are really enjoying our Porridge on Tuesday meals and have just joined in with lots of bloggers for #shredtober. Which is the 30 day shred. We have already attempted it and made it to 13 days and level 2. But due to injuries and taking a break, we let it slip and…continue reading →
Fitbug Air – A Step in the right direction – Review

Fitbug Air – A Step in the right direction – Review

I love to walk, there's something about walking that helps me clear my mind of all the days negative moments. When we moved to Dorset, we were blessed with stunning views wherever we walked and we weren't short of lovely parks to walk in. Those that know me will know I am a gadget fan. If there's an app or a piece of tech to motivate me to do more each day, then I am drawn to it. So when I was offered the opportunity to put a Fitbug Air though it's paces,…continue reading →
Hopefully you’ll start seeing less of us

Hopefully you’ll start seeing less of us

I've had a DVD sitting on our bookshelves collecting dust, for the last few years. Each time I have an ounce of motivation towards getting fit, I look over at the DVD and tell myself i'll start it next week. A few days ago the lovely Charlotte from Write Like No One's Watching, inspired me to dust off the DVD, grab C and her little brother and commit to the 30 Day Shred. We've both been watching what we eat since we started Porridge on Tuesday, a food plan designed to help you lose…continue reading →
A pain in the neck

A pain in the neck

I had every intention of finishing Week 1 of C25K on Friday last week and starting Week 2 on Monday. But I chose to spend that time with my family. The spare time I had, I listened to the excuses in my head, I was tired, I'll do it later or it's too late now. Monday came around and I felt great and started to mentally prepare for that evenings C25K workout. That's when my plans got shattered. Around 11am I had a sudden strange pain in my neck, It progressed fast and…continue reading →
When losing equals winning

When losing equals winning

Last week I failed to join in with the Fitness Fanatics linky due to a bug making me feel sorry for myself. Luckily I was feeling much better by Monday and was able to get back into the swing of things. I'm really enjoying our weekly swim on a Monday. I've never been a strong swimmer but I can definitely notice a difference in my strength and stamina. I managed to push myself to 20 lengths, which is a great result for my swimming ability. On Wednesday I had my second official weigh…continue reading →
Fighting fat

Fighting fat

As mentioned in a previous post (Making a change for the better) this year is the year of small changes and fighting fat, towards a fitter future. But anyone who's been on a lifestyle change knows, it can be a lonely process and at times you can get demotivated. The lovely Angeline from daftmamma.co.uk and Carley from asummerfullofpeaches.com came up with the great idea of a fitness link up as they were working on improving their fitness and general health as well. I thought it was a great idea to help motivate each…continue reading →
