International Geocaching Day 2017

International Geocaching Day 2017

Since we got Beau we've been on the search for longer more interesting hikes than the ones we are used to taking M on. Beau is the kind of dog that really needs a walk that wears him out as he's quite a bouncy pup. The more logs he can jump over or hidden holes he can rush into, the better. On Saturday we headed out not realising it was International Geocaching Day. By chance I opened my Geocaching app on my phone and spotted a cache about 350 meters from where we…continue reading →
Geocaching goals for 2017

Geocaching goals for 2017

Last year I decided to start documenting my geocaching adventures with the little dude. We love exploring the local countryside on a geocache hunt and I thought it was a good way to inspire others to get out and about on their own adventures. I was sharing a post once a month on the 25th until I took a few months off due to our house move. But with as it's a new year I have set new geocaching goals for 2017 and wanted to share our geocaching kids adventures again. A couple…continue reading →
Pokémon Go and Geocaching

Pokémon Go and Geocaching

This month our geocaching has been combined with our new obsession which is very similar. Like a large majority of the world, M and I have become slightly addicted to Pokemon Go a great (depends whom you ask) new app that allows you to hunt for and catch Pokémon in the real world. The great thing about Pokémon Go is that you have to get outdoors to play, which is when it becomes great to combine with some geocaching. Pokémon Go arrived at the perfect time for M and I. M just started…continue reading →
A first to find, over a thousand miles away

A first to find, over a thousand miles away

If you've not read our blog in a while, you may not be aware that M and I now share our geocaching adventures on the 25th of every month. You may notice that this is being published on the 27th and not the 25th. This is because we were actually attending a local geocaching event on the 25th, so I delayed this post so that we could write about it. But first I wanted to share an exciting geocaching milestone for us both. You may have seen that we recently got to go…continue reading →
New friends – Geocaching Kids

New friends – Geocaching Kids

This month we've been geocaching as much as possible. At the start of the month I was a little out of action due to an operation at the end of April, yet my parents put me in their car and drove me round some of their local geocaches. I am super lucky to have parents that geocache, so I was able to pick up some finds despite not being able to walk far. I'm not one to stay still for long, so I was happy to be back to geocaching with M a…continue reading →

Bluebell woods – Geocaching Kids

A couple of weeks ago I decided that I would start to share the geocaching adventures I enjoy with M. He's been finding geocaches with me pretty much since he was able to smile. Although the first two years of his life he was mostly a bystander rather than an actual geocacher. But now my little man has over 100 finds to his geocaching name and can call him self one of many awesome geocaching kids we have in the world. On the 25th of every month I will be sharing what we…continue reading →
