Spooky Pumpkin Carving

Spooky Pumpkin Carving

If you hadn't noticed already, I love Halloween. Every year I find time to do some spooky pumpkin carving. During M's first Halloween I revealed that Clara hadn't done any pumpkin carving before. So I thought it only fair this year to help Clara's little brother carve his first ever pumpkin. We both chose a couple of free pumpkin carving stencils by Party Delights and had fun carving, scooping and generally making a mess. I got a bit rough with my creation and sadly cut through one of the little pieces holding it…continue reading →
Spooky Halloween Treats

Spooky Halloween Treats

Yesterday we shared some spooky halloween lunches we created as we prepared to celebrate Halloween. Today we are sharing some spooky halloween treats that are easy and fun to make with your toddlers or even older children. Clara's mum discovered these mutant spiders online and as they only required 3 ingredients we thought we'd give them a go with M. We melted some dark and milk chocolate together over a saucepan, then poured the melted chocolate into a bowl whilst M poured/threw some rice crispies into a bowl. We then spooned small piles…continue reading →
Spooky Halloween Lunches

Spooky Halloween Lunches

I love Halloween, really love it. So this week we will be sharing some fun Halloween activities we've been up to as we look forward to Halloween. I've been wanting to create some spooky Halloween lunches for M but wasn't really feeling inspired. That was until a fab package packed full of goodies arrived from Eats Amazing. We were so impressed with the Halloween items Grace has sent us, that we couldn't wait to give them a go. We usually do our food shop on a Monday, so our fridge was a little…continue reading →
LGBT Family Halloween

LGBT Family Halloween

If you didn't know already, Halloween is one of my favourite times of the year. I've always loved dressing up and watching horror films as long as I can remember. When M came along we've started to look for more family friendly ways to enjoy Halloween. We take M trick or treating to local houses that enjoy Halloween too, but we wanted him to have even more fun this year. Which is why we were really happy when Big Fish Little Fish got in touch with us about an event they were hosting…continue reading →
A Shocking Family Photo

A Shocking Family Photo

I love to dress up. A recent Halloween post of ours gave us a great opportunity to snap our Me and Mine photo in full fancy dress. How could we let that opportunity pass. With the camera settings entered and our little family stood in place, we started snapping. We got several snaps before my zombie impression pushed M to tears. But once he was off and running around the garden again he was fine. This month has been one of the most tense months of the year. With preparation for moving house,…continue reading →
Another Spooky Halloween

Another Spooky Halloween

Last Halloween was M's first and boy did he look adorable! As he wasn't so mobile, we dressed him up in a little spooky halloween skeleton babygrow. I thought that his first Halloween fancy dress Costume would always be his cutest outfit. But when we dressed him in this years costume, the whole room was full of awwws and "isn't he cute" comments. Initially C wanted Monkey to be a pumpkin, but I wasn't too keen on that idea. So we settled on a little Vampire. When the costume arrived we were concerned…continue reading →
Spooky First – Halloween 2012

Spooky First – Halloween 2012

I know Halloween isn't for everyone and a lot of people disagree with the huge commercialisation of Halloween. But I for one Love it! I really do. It's one of my favourite times of the year. I love to dress up, listen to Halloween music, watch scary films and eat too many Halloween sweets. Now that we've become parents our Halloween experience has changed slightly. No more dressing up and going to parties and watching Scary films all night. Instead we get to dress up our little Monkey in the cutest skeleton outfit,…continue reading →

Crafty Masks – Halloween on a Budget

I've always been a big fan of Halloween. I'm such a kid when it comes to decorating the house and making costumes. For the last ten years I've made my costumes myself, from Zombie punk to Mad scientist. I'm also a big believer in the fact that you don't have to spend a fortune to celebrate Halloween. It's quite easy to celebrate Halloween on a budget. This year I decided it would be fun to make some crafty things with my 9 year old Brother in Law. He loves anything and everything spooky…continue reading →
