A solo trip to the Mad Blog Awards

A solo trip to the Mad Blog Awards

For the last 4 years we have felt very blessed to make it to the finals of the Mad Blog Awards. Each year we enjoyed some freedom as a couple in London dressed up in our fanciest threads. Which is why this year felt very different. We made the decision that our little man would come to London with us and whilst I went to the MADS, Clara would take the little dude on a trip round London. Except school germs had their own idea and took M down with an ear infection.…continue reading →
A date at the Mad Blog Awards

A date at the Mad Blog Awards

We were super lucky to be finalists in the Mad Blog awards again this year. Not only is it amazing to be recognised by your peers, but it's also a really great opportunity to enjoy a date with my wife in London. We don't get to London as much as we'd like and love to dress up fancy and sample some super foods whilst meeting old and new blogging friends. With the Mad Blog Awards falling on the same day as the Rugby World Cup opening game, we set off early to enjoy…continue reading →

Luxury stay – Citadines Apart’hotel

When we discovered we were finalists in the Mad Blog Awards we started to plan our little venture into London to enjoy the celebrations. Except we forgot one thing, somewhere to stay. We were really lucky that an email landed in our inbox one weekday asking us if we'd like to visit a Citadines apart'hotel and luck would have it there was one within walking distance of the Hotel the MADS are held in. We left Dorset in the morning, allowing plenty of time to reach London by lunchtime. On arrival we were…continue reading →
A Rewarding night at the Mad Blog Awards

A Rewarding night at the Mad Blog Awards

Last year Clara and I found ourselves enjoying a weekend away in London, for the Mad Blog Awards. We didn't win an award but we did have a great night, met lots of lovely bloggers and picked up a few new readers after the experience. This year we trekked the two hours back to London to enjoy another evening of fun put on by the Mad Blog Awards team. This time we were nominated in a different cateogry - Most Innovative.   Once we arrived in London, we went and had a cheeky…continue reading →

Mad Blog Awards 2014 – In Pictures

On Friday we drove the two hours to London to stay in a gorgeous Citadane hotel apartment and attend the Mad Blog Awards as finalists in the Most Innovative category.  We were up against fantastic bloggers and we just wanted to enjoy the weekend has much as possible. So we made the most of our time before the awards, enjoyed the actual awards and then spent the morning after in Giraffe eating a lovely brunch. What made the weekend even better was that we WON our category. But we'll talk about that in…continue reading →

Mad Blog Awards – Most Innovative.

Last year Clara and are were over the moon to discover our blog had made it to the finals of the Mad Blog Awards. We were still pinching ourselves when we glammed up and attended the fantastic award ceremony in London. We didn't head home with an award, but we did get to give an award to one of our friends in the blogging world (Katie/Mummy Daddy Me). When the nominations for this years awards opened, we were hopeful for a nomination in a category or two, but didn't hold our breaths on…continue reading →
Our Mad Blog Awards Outfits

Our Mad Blog Awards Outfits

If you read our blog often, or follow us on twitter, it would have been very hard to miss our pics of our recent attendance at the Mad Blog Awards.  From the moment we discovered we had become finalists, talk turned to what we would wear. I had a very strong idea in my head of what I wanted to wear and went out and purchased a blue tie from Topman. As the weeks drew near, I purchased my black trousers, White shirt and red faux Converse from Primark all for under £25.…continue reading →
Making the most of time.

Making the most of time.

Since becoming parents we've certainly realised it's not always rosy, as mentioned in a previous post. Suddenly this little miracle is the pivotal part of your day. From waking moments to going to bed, almost every thought is about this mini human. This can leave little or no time for the one (in our case) you loved enough to create this amazing life, with. When the opportunity to attend the Mad Blog Awards was provided to us, our first thoughts were how much we would miss our little man. As the weeks passed…continue reading →
And the winner is….

And the winner is….

On Friday night we glammed up to the nines, started drinking at quarter past 3 in the afternoon and prepared ourselves to meet lots of lovely bloggers at the Mad Blog Awards. We were still pinching ourselves as we walked into the grand venue at the Royal Garden Hotel. We couldn't believe an idea we had to blog our lives had brought us on such an exciting adventure. Lots of amazing people were going to be in one room, waiting to take home a lovely glass award to adorn their mantle pieces or…continue reading →
Midnight Appreciation

Midnight Appreciation

So I was sitting in bed, in my hotel room, following an amazing night at the Mad Blog Awards, just about to turn in for the evening when I started to think about how much I appreciate our little blogging community. We have met some wonderful people and build such great friendships. We were totally honoured to have been finalists and even though we didn't win, we had the best night, surrounded by friends who have a mutual love of telling each other exactly how it is. We also met lots of new…continue reading →
