My, What a bump.

My, What a bump.

Today Kirsty and I noticed how different my bump seemed. I am carrying very low and out front. Which most people familiar with old wives tales will tell you is meant to mean you're carrying a boy. Since Kirsty and I decided not to find out our little ones gender, we have no way of knowing how true this old wives tale is until it arrives in a few weeks. We love documenting the bumps growth so we've made a little comparison pic. Did you carry low and out front and have a…continue reading →

Pregnancy Cliché

Since entering the third & final trimester I feel like I have become a big walking pregnancy cliche. Kirsty & I saw 'What to Expect When You're Expecting' the other week & I could completely sympathise with Elizabeth Bank's character Wendy, for those of you who have seen the film you'll know exactly what I'm on about, for those of you that haven't I will explain (Go & see it if you can!) I am no longer able to stand up from a chair without my wife's assistance or without pushing my hips…continue reading →
Our House is our Home….

Our House is our Home….

One of the most common questions we’ve been asked by friends since we announced that there was a little miracle growing inside my wife was, “When are you going to move?”. This question is guaranteed to get me reaching for my soap box as I try to justify our decision not to move just because we are increasing our household from two to two and a barely three. We have lived in our home for 2 years this year and I couldn’t be happier with it. It's a one bedroom flat with enough…continue reading →
Having a Grown up day

Having a Grown up day

Today has been one of those days where you congratulate yourself on being very productive then have a mini freak out when you realise how grown up you've become. We certainly felt very "married" today. The morning began with me going for a haircut at the crack of dawn whilst Clara stayed at home and did what ever wives do when their loved one leaves the house. I know she doesn't do what I do, which is grab the Xbox remote and try and get in some time on Saints Row. We then…continue reading →
Kari Me Sling – REVIEW

Kari Me Sling – REVIEW

Both Clara and I decided as soon as we knew she was pregnant, that we wanted to try babywearing once our little one arrived. It took some convincing of Clara to invest in a fabric sling, as she was unsure if they were safe or not. After doing my research and putting my views across, she decided to read the reviews and we purchased a Kari Me sling. The Kari me sling retails at £44.95, which did seem very expensive at first for what we could see was just some fabric. But once…continue reading →
Bed rest & Boobs

Bed rest & Boobs

For the last 2 weeks I have been signed off work on bed rest due to sickness & a fainting spell. I’ve never fainted before & it was very scary. I immediately booked myself an emergency doctor’s appointment  as I’ve learnt during this pregnancy, that it’s always better to be safe than sorry. Thankfully my blood pressure was normal & the doctor explained that it may have just been a dip. However as I am still having bad morning sickness they decided it was best for me & the baby that I take…continue reading →
Looking on the Bright Side

Looking on the Bright Side

So my old friend Morning Sickness decided to make an appearance this morning, & I have spent the entire day perched over the porcelain throne having a nice catch up haha. For some reason the phrase "Morning" Sickness seems like a cruel joke, as although mine starts in the morning, it lasts al day! Over the last 23 weeks my sickness has really got me down, to the point where I've found myself sobbing in K's arms on more than one occasion, which I'm sure has been equally as hard for her to see…continue reading →

“Morning” Sickness

Whomever decided to call it Morning Sickness was obviously a man! I think I have been sick at every other time, except the morning.Mine started on Christmas Eve on the side of a dual carriage way, whilst on our way to a pantomime, very festive eh?! I can't really explain what it feels like but all I remember was having this overwhelming feeling in the pit of my stomach that I didn't feel right & it came on very suddenly. One minute I was chatting away the next I was curled over saying…continue reading →
“So who’s carrying?”

“So who’s carrying?”

One of the most common things C and I heard when we told people we were trying for a baby was, "so who's carrying the baby?". For those who knew me really well it wouldn't shock them to discover that perhaps I wasn't going to be the one to grow our baby. But there had been a time when I had considered giving birth. Many moons ago I had contemplated the idea of creating a mini me, this was very much due to the fact I'd always loved kids and really wanted to…continue reading →
