Happiness in actions

Happiness in actions

November was a testing month. With our little dude catching the mother of all colds on the same week that I was admitted to hospital and then every other person in the house catching the dreadful cold as soon as M was better, you can imagine that our house was not always the happiest house on the block. I have worked hard to practice what I preach this year and find happiness in the darkest of days and I can admit that I have struggled. It can be hard to tell yourself that…continue reading →
Happy Dreams Come True

Happy Dreams Come True

For the last 10 months we've been sharing happiness in a monthly roundup. This means at the end of the year we'll have 12 posts to look back on and read about the good things we've enjoyed this year. When we came up with this project we were hoping to improve our happiness by looking for those special moments and little things that make us smile, which sadly so many people miss. Far too many people spend their lives looking down, when if you only looked up, you'd realise we live in a…continue reading →
Happy adventures and arrivals

Happy adventures and arrivals

It’s safe to say, this month has been pretty amazing for us and we have a lot to be happy about. We started the month by taking part in a challenge for Go Pro, who were working with some bloggers to find Britain’s Most Adventurous Family. Kirsty loves all things techy (as do I) and has longed to get her hands on a Go Pro camera, so you can imagine her excitement when we were offered the chance to review one and take part in the challenge. Although we received the camera in August,…continue reading →
Happy Celebrations

Happy Celebrations

This past month we have been celebrating birthdays, sending time as a family and having fun on holiday, how much happier can we get? At the end of July we celebrated our little Monkey’s 2nd birthday. We couldn’t quite believe he was turning two but these last 2 years have been the happiest time of our lives, he is the one who brightens up our days and keeps us smiling through the hard days. Monkey is a huge Peppa Pig fan so we decided to take him to Paulton's Park to visit Peppa…continue reading →
Such a lucky little man

Such a lucky little man

One thing I've always been grateful for, is the friends we chose to be the our version of godparents to M. He's such a lucky little man, surrounded by so many lovely people who totally adore him. I'm a huge believer that a child is raised not just by their parents, but by the friends and family your surround them with. Each personality a child interacts with, adds something different to their life. Since we moved to Dorset, we don't get to see our best friends so much. But when we do, it's…continue reading →
Blogging makes us smile

Blogging makes us smile

It seems like only yesterday we were writing last months Sharing Happiness post. This month has flown by and we found ourselves at the 28th, wondering what we were going to write about. This month we've certainly smiled more than last, we've hugged more people than we've hugged all year and we've been grateful for this little blog and the opportunities it's provided. There is now doubting that blogging makes us smile. We never anticipated the community we were entering by sharing our words online. Each year we blog we strengthen friendships made…continue reading →
A lot of happiness

A lot of happiness

I am not going to lie, this month we have struggled to find something happy to write about for this months sharing happiness post. It has been playing on my mind quite a bit. However, I soon came to the realisation that even during the sad times, something good always shines through. Our little Monkey has been a testament to us these past few weeks and I couldn't be more proud of him, he really has kept us and our family smiling. On the day our Little Nan passed, we all spent the…continue reading →
A happy month outside

A happy month outside

This month has flown by, like every other month in the year so far. When I started to think about the weeks we've had I realised April has definitely been a happy month outside. We have made the most of the sun shining and taken time to visit London, the beach, the woods and park. Even when the sun wasn't shining we enjoyed a trip to the farm and splashed in puddles. We have always been outdoor people, but now we have M we are certainly an outdoors family. As the month drew to…continue reading →
A gloriously happy day

A gloriously happy day

Today same same sex marriage is legal. I feel so proud to be an openly gay woman on this day. I know this year I will be able to officially marry my wife and I can't wait. I love her with every fibre of my being, she is my soul mate. I could not live without her. Yesterday I wrote a post for Mumsnet about same sex marriage and how I feel about my civil partnership. I wrote that our wedding day will always be the day I married my wife, it was…continue reading →
Friends make us happy

Friends make us happy

This past month has been about spending time with friends and family. We are so happy to have such wonderful people in our lives whom we look forward to spending time with. On valentines evening Kirsty and I enjoyed a lovely meal together, followed by a drink in our local pub. We had such a lovely time catching up as a couple. Neither of us are big drinkers but it was so nice to be standing in a pub, as an adult, sipping a nice cold cider, whilst laughing and talking about anything…continue reading →
