We did it! – Spartan Race Sprint Windsor 2016

Complete a Spartan Race has been on my life list ever since I discovered them. I was probably about 3 stone heavier and incredibly unfit when I decided it would be great to complete an exciting obstacle course. There was something about the challenge that appealed to me. When Spartan Race contacted us to become official bloggers for them I knew that this was it, this was real and this time we needed to make big changes in our lives. I have always been up and down with my weight, mostly up but…continue reading →
Two weeks to go with two stone down.

Two weeks to go with two stone down.

In exactly two weeks time we will be lining up, ready to start our Spartan race. Over the last few months we have been losing weight, training and generally getting ourselves mentally ready for one of our biggest challenges yet. When we both decided to take on a Spartan race we were determined to complete it at our fittest. When we climbed Snowdon for our last challenge we had lost some weight but still had a long way to go in regards to our fitness levels. This time round we have made important…continue reading →

The Spartan Race is in our sights

On October 1st, Clara and I will be taking part in a Spartan Race, our first ever challenging obstacle race. We've been doing our best to eat less and move more over the last few months, but the week just gone, we decided to step things up a gear. Armed with our Thinking Slimmer pods to listen to and a healthy eating plan based on Slimming World principles (more fresh food, less processed food) we have been working hard to shift some lbs and get ourselves working up a sweat. I started my…continue reading →
Getting Spartan ready at home

Getting Spartan ready at home

For the last few months Clara and I have been trying various fitness regimes at home to get us ready for our Spartan Race in October. We're currently saving to buy a house, so every penny counts, which means a gym membership is out of our budget. To be honest we have enjoyed discovering new ways to improve our fitness without the gym. Our first attempt at home fitness involved taking part in a HIIT class uploaded to YouTube by Joe (the guy who makes the 'Lean in 15' vines - he also has…continue reading →
The Spartan Race challenge has been set

The Spartan Race challenge has been set

Last year we shared the news about the challenge we were hoping to complete this year. With my operation out the way and our training plan set in place we can finally announce that in October, Clara and I will be taking part in a Spartan Race in Windsor. Clara and I love a challenge and will be hoping to raise as much money as possible for Grayson (click to read his story), whilst also going through some hopefully life changing fitness regimes. If you have never heard of a Spartan Race before…continue reading →
Journey to Spartan

Journey to Spartan

It is known that Clara and I love a challenge and enjoyed climbing Snowdon for Raising for Grayson last year. This year I was meant to be completing a challenge called Challenge 10, but had to bail out due to an ovarian cyst and awaiting an operation. Now that my op date has been set, we have started to look towards a challenge for next year and we have settled on a Spartan race. A Spartan race is an obstacle course race designed to put your whole body through it's paces. Being totally…continue reading →
