Puppets by Post, Mr Croc the car pet

Puppets by Post, Mr Croc the car pet

Earlier this year we invited to become Puppeteers by Puppets by Post. We were sent the gorgeous Mr Rex, a Goldilocks and the three bears story with finger puppets and a lovely little Crocodile that became our car pet. It may sound odd that we made him our car pet, but he became a handy little puppet to keep in the glove box for journeys in the car. Our little man is a huge fan of puppets and took to the personality I provided Croc with. As he was our car pet, assigned…continue reading →
SmartMax Magnets for creative play

SmartMax Magnets for creative play

Ever since M was small he has been interested in magnets. Clara's brother had some child friendly magnets in his toy box a few years back and M gradually discovered them and they went everywhere with him. So when SmartMax got in touch to see if we would like M to be sent some SmartMax magnets for creative play, we jumped at the chance. Ever since the Power Vehicles Mix and the Basic Stunt set arrived they have been played with pretty much every single day. Both adults and children are drawn to…continue reading →
Plan Toys Wooden Stacking Tree

Plan Toys Wooden Stacking Tree

Our little man has recently become very interested in stacking toys. We have lots of stacking cups that he plays with both in his room and in the bath, but nothing that really tests his stacking skills. We were recently sent a wooden stacking tree by Plan Toys, from The Toadstool. This new toy has certainly put his stacking skills to the test. This beautiful wooden toy wouldn't look out of place on display on a bedroom shelf. It's made from sustainable and eco friendly wood, with non toxic water based dyes and…continue reading →
P’Kolino Wooden Xylophone

P’Kolino Wooden Xylophone

Our little man loves noise, he sings, bangs spoons on pots and also loves to stack things. So when we were sent the P'Kolino Wooden Xylophone it was an instant hit. At 15 months our son is a little tornado, zooming from one toy to the next. This is the first toy that I've seen him sit down to play with, for quite a while. The xylophone comes nicely stacked together, the stacking aspect is quite fun as you can try to stack it in different ways to make different sounds when you…continue reading →
Janod Magnetic Rocket – Review

Janod Magnetic Rocket – Review

Monkey has been testing toys for The Toadstool UK for several months now and hands down I have to say that the Janod Magnetic Rocket is my all time favourite toy he has reviewed. The brightly coloured rocket comes in 5 pieces that can be stacked together and held in place by mini magnets. The magnets are securely held within the wood, so I had no fears when M placed a piece in his mouth to chomp. I was also impressed with how the rocket shows no signs of his chomping. At nearly…continue reading →
Lamaze Toy Review

Lamaze Toy Review

We are huge fans of Lamaze toys, and we have a pretty impressive collection, which we have been buying since M was tiny. He goes through phases of wanting to play with them, we thought maybe the toys we had were getting a little bit young for him. Then a couple of weeks ago we were asked if we wanted to review some Lamaze toys which are aimed at older babies, specifically designed for coordination development and motor skills. We thought it was a great idea. We were sent - Frankie the Hanky…continue reading →
Haba Pulling Diego Dragon – Review

Haba Pulling Diego Dragon – Review

Monkey was first sent the Hablo pulling Diego Dragon when he was just walking. He was more interested in eating the dragon, than pulling it around. Now that M is running all over the place, the dragon practically flies around the room with him after him. This adorable dragon is available from The Toadstool online toy store. He's incredibly well made, nice and colourful and perfect for a one year old who can toddle round the room. I was a little concerned about M chewing on the dragon's tail, but after much wrenching…continue reading →
Lilliputiens Oscar The Greedy Crab – Review

Lilliputiens Oscar The Greedy Crab – Review

When The Toadstool sent us a Lilliputiens Oscar The Greedy Crab my first impressions were good. The bright colours and lovely textures were a big hit with M. Straight away he grasped the little crab and gave it the nibble test. It seemed to pass as he stroked his nails across the bumpy tummy. Now at 10 months old he's had a few weeks to play with it and still loves it.   The crab retails at £12.50, which is a little more than we would normally spend on a toy of this…continue reading →
Wonderworld Rainbow Sound Sensory Blocks – Review

Wonderworld Rainbow Sound Sensory Blocks – Review

Monkey was recently asked to be an official toy tester for The Toadstool UK online store. As he is becoming much more interactive with his toys, we have him permission to accept the offer. The first toys he has had fun reviewing, are the fab Wonderworld Rainbow Sound Sensory Blocks.   When the box first arrived, we were a little concerned that it was aimed at older children. M let us check them over, before letting him loose on the blocks. Straight away he grabbed one of the square blocks and started chomping…continue reading →
