I love Christmas and the magic that it brings. Now that we are parents I feel that we hold this huge responsibility to keep the magic burning for our little dude and to be honest, I don’t mind in the slightest. I don’t find it hard to imagine how excited a child is at Christmas, partly because I’m still a very big kid at heart. Clara and I always agreed that we would create Christmas traditions to enjoy with our family and have started to compile a Christmas family wishlist to tick off during December.
M is really into Christmas this year, which means we’ve decided to introduce traditions like a stocking at the end of the bed and a special gift just from Santa, a bit sooner that we imagined. Each day M tells us what he would like Santa to bring and thankfully I don’t think any of the items he has requested are going to be too hard for Santa to find in his workshop.
So here is our Christmas family wishlist of fun things we’d like to do before Christmas day arrives.
Visit Father Christmas
See the Christmas lights in London
Attend our local Christmas festival
Write a letter and post it to Father Christmas
Bake Christmas Cookies
Spend time with family
Take a silly Christmas jumper photo
Watch at least 5 Christmas movies together
Attempt to teach M the 12 days of Christmas
Make our own Christmas cards
Read a new Christmas story at bedtime
We’ve already checked a couple off our list and can’t wait to work our way through the rest of the list. This year has been a year of ups and downs, so we are looking forward to making the last month extra special. Do you have any traditions you like to do during December?
