I imagine if you a regular reader you will now know we are finally homeowners and just moved into our new home. With Christmas just around the corner we have already received some lovely little gifts for the home. So I thought I would put together a Christmas gift guide for a new home, just in case you are buying for a family celebrating their first Christmas in their new home.
Something for the walls – Moving into a new home means you get a nice blank canvas to put your personalities onto. It was an incredibly nice touch to receive a lovely print from some friends that perfectly reflected our little family unit. You could get a fun print, quote, or family photo framed to provide the personal touch to your gift.
Something for the kitchen – I find you can never have enough staple items like olive oil or balsamic vinegar. This lovely Lui E Lei pack from Carluccio’s provides your new homeowners with a gorgeous bottle of extra virgin olive oil and Balsamic that will certainly wow their guests and come in handy in the kitchen.
Something to go under the tree – A lovely gesture at this time of year would be a personalised stocking to celebrate the first Christmas in their home. Unpacking the stocking each Christmas would provide a happy memory of their first Christmas there.
Something for the living room – A gorgeous cosy throw would be the perfect gift for those that love to snuggle in front of their favourite Netflix shows. Clara and I are always looking for the comfiest throw to warm us up on chilly nights, so a new throw would be a winner.
Something for the house – Both Clara and I have expressed how handy it would be to have our own toolbox. I know it doesn’t sound much of an exciting Christmas present, but when you’ve a cupboard full of tools to help around the house it could be useful to have a toolbox for them.
I am sure there are a million and one little gifts you could buy a new homeowner, let me know in the comments below what you’d love to receive in your new home.
We received a Carluccio’s Lui E Lei set for the purpose of the post.
