Christmas gifts for a geek like me

This Christmas I got my favourite present early. It was something I have wanted for ages and just couldn’t wait two months for. Luckily my wife is very generous and let me enjoy my copy of Fallout 4 the moment it arrived. So I’ve already had my main geeky present, but I thought I’d suggest some in case you needed some last minute ideas for the geeks in your family.

titan and case

YT Club tripod (£19.99) – This fab little tripod is perfect for the blogger and vlogger in your life. The 3 legs of the tripod can be wrapped around virtually anything, making it incredibly useful for capturing footage when you don’t have a flat surface. It also comes in really handy for using as an extension on your arm when vlogging to the front facing camera. Since being sent this tripod I have taken it everywhere with me. It’s comforting to know I am ready to vlog with my phone, without having to source out a suitable surface.

Evo Mesh Case (£29.95 – The phone cover is perfect for protecting your phone against drops and knocks and even toddlers! Both C and I have this cover and find it fits our phones very well, isn’t clumsy and huge and has been put through it’s paces by M. We would reccomend it to all as it really does protect one of the most expensive things in your pocket. The rather awesome FlexShock™ offers advanced impact protection from drops of 2m/ 6.6ft, which means it could survive an impact from above my head! If you are buying for a proper geek, their phone will be something they will want to keep safe.

Titan iPhone charging cable  (£29.95)- This is perfect for anyone with an iPhone, especially if they are a geek like me and are constantly running their battery down. We have gone through so many chargers due to them fraying or breaking due to having to charge on the go. But this cable is like no other cable I’ve used. The cable is wrapped in high strength steel whilst the Lightning and USB connectors permanently sealed with a one-piece housing. This means no more snapping at the Lightning or USB end. This cable will not only save you from getting frustrated, it will also save you money in the long run.

BBC Focus Magazine (6 issues £17.85) – This magazine is perfect for the inquisitive geek you know. Subjects such as hyperspace travel, rainforests and asteroids are just some of the items discussed in this fabulously geeky magazine. If I’m ever looking for a magazine in Smiths, to pass the time, this is the one I look for.

I can’t leave this list without suggesting Fallout 4 (from £29.99). If you are buying for an Xbox One or Playstation 4 gamer this year, this game is pretty epic. Based in a world after nuclear blasts, you can spend hours getting lost in the wastelands or rebuilding civilisation whilst you create impressive settlements fellow wastelanders. I’ve been playing it for weeks and I’ve only just scratched the surface.

I hope this list has given you some ideas for gifts for a geek you love. Let me know in the comments if there’s anything you’d suggest for a geek like me. I’d love to add more to my wishlist.

We received some of these items for the purpose of this post – For more information please read our disclosure policy.
