Monkey Turns One – Our day out

After M’s fantastic space party, we had high expectations for his actual birthday. The day before, we spent the afternoon in Toys R Us buying last minute presents. M has recently had a huge developmental growth and was really bored of the toys he had. We made sure we bought plenty of noisy toys that required him to practice his motor skills and also lots of books we could all read together. We spent the evening wrapping and getting his presents ready for the morning and then we made sure we got to bed early so that we’d all enjoy his special day. We were literally counting doing the minutes thinking we only have such and such time left until Monkey turns one.

Monkey Turns One It was adorable to watch M squeal as each present was unwrapped, he wasn’t too in to the whole unwrapping but he wanted his presents made up straight away. His favourite toys were from the Vtech Toot Toot range. His Nanny had already got him three cars, so we bought the airport and fire station and engine to go with it. It’s something that can grow with him as you can add track and buy extra add ons like a garage and traffic lights. Plus it’s something I can play with too. We wanted to spend the day doing something M enjoyed so we decided to take him to the aquarium as he loved the one we visited in Newquay. It was the right decision as he loved it. Each tank held something new and exciting.

Monkey Turns One After an exciting trip round the aquarium, we took M on to Bournemouth pier so that we could take our Me and Mine picture for the month.

Monkey Turns One As it’s the school holidays there was a fair set up around the entrance to the pier. The little dude was mesmerised by the merry-go-round, so C took him on for his first ever spin. The first few rotations he enjoyed, but as the ride went on, he was soon clinging to C.

Monkey Turns One We felt it only fair to take the opportunity to celebrate a year with the coolest little dude, by hitting the hard stuff.

What beautiful pictures! I know how hard it is to take photos in an aquarium due to not being allowed to use flash but these are amazing. And the one of him looking into the tank he looks so mature!
I do love the one of you both eating candy floss though 🙂 You both look so happy!

Aw it looks like you all had a lovely day- we went to that aquarium in Bournemouth when Mads must have just been a little bit younger than Monkey. I love the photo of C and Monkey on the merry go round- that’s definitely one for a frame. x

Addy has those cars they are sooooo loud.
He got some fun stuff. Hope he is enjoying.
I love the fact you spent the day doing something fun with fab pics for him to look back on.
I’ve just realised never take Addy to the aquarium. So doing that this month although think Hastings is our closest.

It looks like you had such a perfect day together. You all look so happy and the photos are amazing. Again, I’m jealous. Aquariums hate my camera!
I think Clara is having more fun than Monkey on the carousel. ha!
    xx
