After M’s fantastic space party, we had high expectations for his actual birthday. The day before, we spent the afternoon in Toys R Us buying last minute presents. M has recently had a huge developmental growth and was really bored of the toys he had. We made sure we bought plenty of noisy toys that required him to practice his motor skills and also lots of books we could all read together. We spent the evening wrapping and getting his presents ready for the morning and then we made sure we got to bed early so that we’d all enjoy his special day. We were literally counting doing the minutes thinking we only have such and such time left until Monkey turns one.
It was adorable to watch M squeal as each present was unwrapped, he wasn’t too in to the whole unwrapping but he wanted his presents made up straight away. His favourite toys were from the Vtech Toot Toot range. His Nanny had already got him three cars, so we bought the airport and fire station and engine to go with it. It’s something that can grow with him as you can add track and buy extra add ons like a garage and traffic lights. Plus it’s something I can play with too. We wanted to spend the day doing something M enjoyed so we decided to take him to the aquarium as he loved the one we visited in Newquay. It was the right decision as he loved it. Each tank held something new and exciting.
After an exciting trip round the aquarium, we took M on to Bournemouth pier so that we could take our Me and Mine picture for the month.
As it’s the school holidays there was a fair set up around the entrance to the pier. The little dude was mesmerised by the merry-go-round, so C took him on for his first ever spin. The first few rotations he enjoyed, but as the ride went on, he was soon clinging to C.
