Moors Valley Park – Autumn Fun

It’s rare that the little dude and I get a whole day to ourselves, especially a week day. So I made sure I booked a day off last week and took the opportunity to take him to enjoy some Autumn fun at Moors Valley Park.

We had no plans other than to have fun and explore. On our arrival the little dude spotted a Halloween craft event taking place, so we decided to join in and made a lovely little sand art picture. It was lovely to have no plans as we were able to just wander, play and ride the train when we felt like it. Every so often when we visit Moors Valley Park we are on a time limit due to the car park or having to visit family or friends, so it just felt nice to know we had nowhere else to be.

After some craft we played in the park and then grabbed a bite to eat from the cafe. We took our lunch to the outdoor picnic benches as we knew they are right next to a pokemon go gym. There are several pokestops at Moors Valley Park, which is a huge bonus for fans like us. Woods, craft and pokemon go is a total win!

Since our little man started school we have seen huge changes in him. His personality is growing, his confidence shines through and he takes on challenges he would have held back on before.

I love seeing M master new achievements when we are out and about together. I am happy to encourage him to climb a giant rope pyramid to the very top just so I can see his super smile when he climbs higher than he’s ever climbed before. My smile was super too, he really does make me ever so proud. He also mastered a couple of other play equipment challenges, which shows me that our little man loves to take on a challenge as much as his two mums.

Den building is something I have planned to do with M for quite a while. So to finally get round to building a Mama and M den was lots of fun. It stood up pretty well too. Check out or vlog below to see us put the den up in double quick time.

We’ve had such a stressful month with some big things happening in the not too distant future, so it’s always nice to get out into the woods just spending time talking and taking in our surroundings. I highly recommend a trip to the woods this Autumn!
