Shoulder to shoulder we stand

The start of this month was full of unexpected events and sadness which really tested our relationship like any sudden rush of emotions can. Neither of us had ever experienced such a terrible week, so it was encouraging to see that in times of trouble we stand shoulder to shoulder. I really don’t know how I would have got through the last few weeks if it wasn’t for Clara and some incredible friends.

This month’s Me and You photo was taken the weekend after my nan and Clara’s friend passed. We weren’t in the mood for great big smiles, we were tired, emotional and teary, but we wanted to capture us as we were. Together we can face anything and face it we did.

I am so grateful to have someone in my life that understands the way I deal with emotion and gives me space at the same time as being there for me 100%. I hope one day our grandchildren will look back at these photos with love, the same way I looked at pictures of my grandparents over the last few weeks.

Oh, such a lovely photo of you both, and such beautiful words too. It’s true that big emotional events like you guys have had to deal with this month, often test relationships, but they often serves as a great reminder of why you chose that person in the first place. x

You two are truly incredible. I have felt so angry at everything that happened to you recently, it’s so unfair. Your strength is amazing and I admire you both so much xx

I am so sorry for your loss, truly. It’s amazing that you guys have each other and a great friend network too. As its in times of heartache that you need them to lean on the most. My Mum passed Xmas just passed there, so I know how hard it is. Hoping you’re pulling through OK. x
