So many colours – Autumn walk 2012

I think this time of year is one of my favourite times of year. I love the colours autumn offers with all the leaves changing on the trees. I also love the way the cold nips at your face as you walk out your front door.

I think as adults we take too much for granted. As the seasons change we never really stop to look at how beautiful nature and our surroundings are. I know we are lucky enough to live somewhere with beautiful surroundings. But even those who live in the inner cities can stop and admire the beauty of the orange glow of leaves atop an ageing tree.

So Many Colours - Autumn walk 2012

Having Monkey this year gives me another reason to enjoy Autumn like I’m seeing it through new eyes. We love to babywear Monkey as much as possible and as he is growing he enjoys looking around as we walk. So we talk to him about what we can see.

Yesterday we went on a long autumnal walk. We talked to him about the golden leaves and he looked at them with wonder. I’m sure he may have been thinking about when his next feed was, but I like to think he was thinking about how beautiful the colours were. We crunched through the leaves, I say crunched but it was more squelched as it had been raining that morning and we talked about how next year he will be in wellies kicking through the leaves.

Babywearing in the cold has big advantages, you get a mini radiator to keep you warm and you’re able to keep your precious baby warm too. I made sure to take lots of pictures of us on our walk, as just like the seasons changing, Monkey is changing so very fast. It’s scary to think in just over a month we will be celebrating Monkey’s first (dare I say the word) Christmas.

As we neared the end of our walk Monkey grew tired and snuggled up and placed his little snoozing head against my chest. Which is another advantage of Baby-wearing. It’s so heart melting when your little one snuggles up close.

Which is your favourite season?

I am seeing the autumn very differently this year as well with my wee man. We are really getting out and about trying to enjoy it as much as we can despite the rain! He loves the puddles and all the leaves. I won’t say it is my favourite season yet as I am interested to see what Winter will bring if it snows! Baby wearing is great…especially when they nestle in! Lovely photos x

I used to love Spring best of all, in many ways with the spring animals being born on the farm it is still my favourite but the colours of Autumn are wonderful and like you I have really enjoyed our outdoor time this Autumn. I love the photo of the 3 of you together, you have so much fun ahead when Monkey is walking and running through those leaves! Thank you for linking up to Country Kids.

Autumn is definitely my favourite season, I love the colours and the light. Just you wait how much more exciting Autumn is once Monkey can kick through the leaves.
