So much climbing – Autumn Walk 2016

It’s that time of year where we wrap up warm and head out to a local park or woods to enjoy our annual Autumn Walk. Our Autumn walk is fast becoming my favourite activity on our calendar as we get to enjoy family time as well as the gorgeous colours Autumn brings. This year we chose to head to Upton Country Park to enjoy a stroll through the vast amount of woods on site.

The little dude wasn’t too impressed with my idea for an Autumn walk and made it known he was cold, tired, hungry and just wanted to play Pokemon Go. But because we know our little man well, we knew as soon as he saw all the climbing opportunities he would be in his element.  Soon he was racing down slopes, skidding through leaves, climbing tree trunks and collecting conkers.

M is certainly a confident blogger’s child and sat on a stump and demanded I take his picture. It was not something I could refuse. Since starting school we’ve seen some big changes in M. He has always been quite a shy boy in other’s company, but has recently started to show more confidence in group situations. I love seeing him grow, change and discover himself a little more each week.

This is the first year M has been excited about collecting conkers and was very proud of himself for discovering one all on his own. He held it aloft and made sure we both saw it and praised his genius explorer skills.

The great thing about Upton Country Park are the hidden areas that hold exciting apparatus like this swing. We’d not seen it before and watched as M very excitedly joined a long queue of children before swinging until he laughed.

Once M had made sure he’d climbed and jumped from everything he possibly could, we headed to the tea room for a scone and sandwich. Though we made sure we caught some Pokemon on our way out of the woods.

It’s great to see Monkey out exploring the woods for your autumn walk, kids always protest until their out exploring, I discovered my two least willing to go outside playing as if they always wanted to be there after unwillingly helping out on the farm just yesterday. It’s great to see M growing in confidence as he explores the woods, I’m amazed by how many tree and logs he found to climb up, a perfect adventure! I bet M was so excited when you found the swing that you’d never seen before, he looks like he had a blast on it!

Thanks for linking up with me on #CountryKids.

I also have a reluctant walker until we get out and about and then she doesn’t want to come home! Autumn walks are just my favourite, so much to see and do. It looks as though you had a fantastic time! #CountryKids

It’s funny how reluctant they can be before you start. As soon as they get there, it’s as if it was their idea all along. Such beautiful autumn photos. Good to see his confidence grow. #CountryKids

Some great captures there. My kids are all the same, they moan when I say we are heading out for a walk or to an NT property and then they have a marvellous time! Mich x #Countrykids

Awww your photos are gorgeous and such a beautiful place to have a wander. I didn’t grow up where there is autumn and luckily it was easy for me to adopt and autumn is now my favourite season.
