If you don’t have any plans tonight, then I suggest you settle down with a nice takeaway and tune into BBC Children in Need, which starts at 7:30pm over on BBC1.
You may know a little bit about the wonderful work Children in Need do here in the UK, but just in case you haven’t watched it before, here’s a little information about the Charity and the work they do.
What We Do
BBC Children in Need is the BBC’s UK corporate charity. Thanks to the support of the public, we’re able to make a real difference to the lives of children all across the UK.
Our vision is that every child in the UK has a childhood which is:
• Happy and Secure
• Allows them the chance to reach their potential
We provide grants to projects in the UK which focus on children and young people who are disadvantaged. We are local to people in all corners of the UK and support small and large organisations which empower children and extend their life choices.
Where Your Money Goes
Every penny from the money you raise or donate will go towards helping disadvantaged children and young people right here in the UK. We are able to make this promise because we use investment income and Gift Aid to cover all running costs, meaning that you can be sure your money makes a real difference.
Children in Need would really appreciate any donation you are willing to give tonight to help those children effected by poverty and hardship. However if you do not wish to give your money over the phone tonight, there are other ways in which you can help raise money.
Children in Need have worked extremely hard this year to help your money go a bit further and have introduced lots of new products you can buy for your children to make it fun and encourage them to get involved. We were sent some great items from the Children in Need range, so we thought we’d share our favourite items.
- Pudsey Superstar and Space Hero Stationary Set (£3)
- Pudsey Superstar and Space Hero Lunch Boxes (£3.50)
- Pudsey Beach Towels (£5)
- Pudsey Superstar and Space Hero Backpacks (£5)
You can see the full product range by visiting the Children in Need Shop.
