When Clara and I started daily vlogging we decided to capture our footage on a camera we always had on us, this proved to be our iPhone 6. We are both big Apple fans and really love how easy the iPhone camera features are to use. Even our little man is able to capture usable footage on our phones.

camera features

The camera offers several different features that we both use to add to our vlogs.

We use this daily and find it incredibly easy to capture footage. The tools required to capture footage are minimal and are located all within close distance to your thumb if holding the phone in one hand. The camera captures at 1080p HD at 60 fps with great clarity (as long as the lighting is good).

Time lapse

This is a feature I love to use to capture the sky and the sea. It allows you to show time passing in a short amount of time. It’s another really easy to use feature and can look really professional if done correctly.

Slow mo

My favourite feature of all time is the slow mo feature. I regularly capture footage in 240 fps, when our little man is racing around. This feature has been used quite a bit in our vlogs as it shows the moments when we are having so much fun, that we have to slow it down a notch.

The photo feature is used just as much as the video one on my phone. I am a huge instagram lover and capture many images. The ability to capture with or without flash, in HDR or burst mode, is great.

This is a handy little feature for the instagram fan. If you want to capture that perfect square image without using additional apps to edit your photo, this square feature is perfect.

I love this feature for capturing beautiful landscapes. This is quite a fun feature our little man loves as it can produce some funny results if you don’t keep a steady hand when capturing the picture.

One of our little man’s favourite features is the photo burst mode. He loves taking photos with our phones and quite often will snap about 100 shots in one go, by placing his thumb on the capture button. I love looking through all this photos he has captured and keeping the odd one or two where we are in focus.

Our phones have helped us capture a lot of great memories. We’ve already captured 148 days in a row, using our iPhone 6 cameras. The quality and features have helped us create vlog after vlog. After all, they say the best camera you have, is the one you have with you.
